My vet recommended this because my Golden Retriever is not only very very old but he gets runny stomachaches every other week or so. My vet was convinced that a gradual change to this low residue formula would help alleviate my dog's stomach problem. I did gradually introduce this dry food along with his regular dry food until he was completely on this **Eukanuba. **But even after about half a dozen bags of Eukanuba, my dog's problem persisted. I also make sure he didn't eat any human food, especially wheat and gluten products such as bread because he seems to have similar symptoms to humans with a gluten intolerance condition. Sometimes changing a dog's diet cannot do much if the real problem might be something in his guts. Lately my vet is recommending that my dog takes anti-biotics to kill whatever is living in his stomach and intestines because of the fact that this problem is recurring on a regular basis.

Our pet Chihuahua has had a very sensitive stomach ever since we got him at four months old.  We spent more than a couple years trying to find him a kibble that had the right balance of fats in it because he has always been very sensitive to food with high fat.  Occasionally we'd find one that would sit well with him, but then after a month of him being on the food he had the same intolerance and we were back to square one.  We probably tried 5 different brands of food until Eukauba came out with the Sensitive Stomach formulation.  In fact, prior to this coming to market, we had to purchase one from Science Diet that at the time could only be ordered and purchased at our vet's office.  It was definitely a pain!  However, once the Eukanuba Sensitive Stomach came out and we compared the nutritional information to the Science Diet kibble, we found them very similar and decided to give it a try.  Our pup has been on this food ever since and does not have stomach problems anymore.
