Who Goes To A Fiber Festival To Shop For Detergent?
I am a fabric artist. I spin wool and create clothing with it. Along with wool, silk, and other natural fibers comes the problem of BUGS. It is important to be able to wash the wool, but then it is important to keep bugs away too. That is where Eucalan No Rinse Delicate Wash comes in. Although some people have recommended it to me to wash underwear and such, I find that it is best for woolens and natural fibers that need protection from unwanted diners. It comes in four scents- natural, grapefruit, lavender, and eucalyptus. If you are sensitive to lanolin you need to be aware that this wash contains it. Performance Recommended for sweaters, lingerie, hosiery, comforters, down jackets, bathing suits and baby items, this detergent works best for me when I am washing wool fibers, yarn, and/or items made with these fibers. It works well on cashmere too. The lanolin in this detergent helps to soften the fibers and the scent (I use eucalyptus and lavender) helps to repel moths and other creatures from wanting to munch on the items when stored away for winter. I didn't find it to be quite as nice as other detergents designed for gentle washes when using it on hosiery or personal items. But for wool, silk, and other natural fibers it is pretty nice. It does help reduce static, and the scent lasts okay so it is nice to use before putting away items for storage. Scent I use the eucalyptus and lavender scents as recommended to me at the fiber festivals by others who want to preserve woolens etc. The scent is natural and very nice. I tend to put a bit more essential oil in my washes, because I want a bit more scent to my woolens.
