My first Etsy (www.etsy.com) experience:
My sister told me about this fantastic website when I was in dire need of the perfect gift; I needed a Christmas present for our other sister who is incredibly particular and very green. She likes recycled glass jewelry and handmade pieces with a lot of personality, and I was afraid that I would be spending through the roof to get something that actually came off a machine.
I was wrong! When I started to explore Etsy, I was totally amazed to see the breadth and quality of the products on the website. Not only do they have handmade jewelry, but a plethora of household items, products for beauty and bath, plants, toys, music, woodworking - the list goes on and on!
I found necklaces, bracelets and earrings galore - infact, I bought most of my holiday presents there because the vendors were so helpful, fast and friendly. Most of the time I was also able to request a different fabric or the addition of a personalized note, so I knew my loved ones were getting truly individualized presents.
A gift to our sensibilities:
The best thing about Etsy is that it is exactly what shoppers need - on so many different levels. Etsy (thank goodness) is the antithesis of Wal-Mart. When you shop there, not only do you get a product that no one else has, but you support an economy of artists and environmentally-minded people. It is a joy to know that you are helping foster creativity and thoughtfulness!
Trustworthy:
Similar to EBay and other online shopping sites, Etsy provides you with access to vendor's ratings and feedback entries, so you know just what you're getting into and what other people have experienced.
I look at Etsy at least once a day just to see the beautiful creations; it is exciting to have so much beauty so readily available.
