I went with a friend to get 'make-overs' on a Sunday Afternoon at Nordstom's. Her friend works the cosmetics counter and it was a slow holiday weekend. I have never been anywhere near a high end department store cosmetics counter other than to walk by on my way to another store. I received this mascara as a sample when I purchased another item. I absolutely love it. It really does make your eyes pop and is so much more dramatic than any other mascara I've ever used. And I would say it's a classy dramatic, not an overload of goopy eye make-up or 14 coats of mascara. This stuff is amazing! Try it, you will def think it's worthwhile. I try to watch for sales or promos to help alleviate the cost, as Estee Lauder's line is PRICEY. But this is worth it. You will not be disappointed. It comes in black and brown. I used the '10 day sample' for about a month because I couldn't bear to throw it away.
