Escort-Passport 8500 Radar Detector is SUPERIOR, EXCELLENCE,EXTRA ORDINARY and TRUSTWORTHY. It has programmable features and is user friendly. Escort-Passport has had decades of experience, paired with leading edge technology has made them a leader of the pack with radar and laser detection. Escort has a cordless model that works with batteries. I would be careful before I decided to purchase it because if the batteries get low you may get a ticket.

This is a great unit. One of the best features is the ability to customize the sound and display. The unit also allows you to turn off certain alerts which helps when in congested areas. The 3.5mm sound out jack is a must have for my application. I use it on my motorcyel and my cars.
I've had to use the customer service a few times and they have been very fast to respond. Also when you call Escort customer service you are calling the United States. Imagine that!

I purchased this dectector about 4 years ago. I've loved almost every minute of it's use ever since. I will definately purchase another one when this one is worn out!
