Ernie Haase & Signature Sound - Every Light That Shines At Christmas —

Okay, to all you southern gospel fans.  The CD Every Light That Shines At Christmas by Ernie Haase & Signature Sound (EHSS) doesn't go on sell to the public until October 6th.  However, Ernie Haase is on Twitter and he was promoting the new CD thru their website.  If you pre-order it before October 6th you also receive a refrigerator magnet and a tote bag.  I preordered about 2 weeks ago and the CD arrived last week.  Traditionally speaking I don't begin listening to Christmas music until November 1st.  I like to get thru the pomp and circumstance of the State Fair and Halloween first but whenever I get a new CD I am always anxious to listen to it.  I also decided that since my church choir has already started practicing for the Christmas Cantata that I guess I am going to be singing Christmas music for the next three months!

Every Light That Shines At Christmas is unlike any Christmas CD I have ever listened to or owned unless of course it was a compilation that I made for myself.  Why would I say that?  EHSS is a southern gospel group but this Christmas CD provides a little bit of something for everyone.  Take a look at the song titles and you might begin to understand what I mean.

  1. He Started the Whole World Singing/O Come, All Ye Faithful
  2. Marshmallow World
  3. Every Light That Shines At Christmas
  4. Redeeming Love
  5. Changed By a Baby Boy
  6. Mr. Heat Miser
  7. Thank God For Kids
  8. Christmas Is Christmas (Wherever You Are)
  9. God Rest Ye Merry Gentelman
  10. What Child Is This?
  11. If It Doesn't Snow On Christmas
  12. All I Want Is You
  13. Christmas In Indiana
  14. Silent Night
  15. Light A Candle
  16. Amen

Some of the songs are just plain fun like Marshmallow World and Mr. Heat Miser.  Your heart will be blessed when you hear the Brentwood United Methodist Church Children's Choir perform in Christmas Is Christmas and He Started The Whole World Singing.  And speaking of children.  Whose eyes don't tear up when you hear the Oak Ridge Boys or Marie Osmond perform Thank God For Kids?  Christmas is all about the Christ child so I love to hear children perform.

Redeeming Love is a beautiful arrangement and unusual for a Christmas selection but very fitting for this CD.  And if you need some traditional songs then you have: God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman, What Child Is This, and Silent Night.

Ernie Haase & Signature Sound is an all male quartet.  Haase has a beautiful tenor voice and is very charismatic with his love for music.  The group is often featured with Bill and Gloria Gaither and their Homecoming Friends.

If you want to see the lyrics to any of the songs; especially those that might be new to you as they were to me you can find them at www.erniesigsound.com

Check out the lyrics and/or the words.  If you love southern gospel music and are in need of some new Christmas music then I would say add this one to your collection!

The Christmas cantata is Sunday evening, December 20th. I did know about EHSS because I'm on their mailing list and I would love to see them but I wouldn't even think of traveling to TN in the winter.

When's your Christmas cantata? EHSS is going to be in Chattanooga in December.

I'm following Ernie Haase on Twitter. I'm going to see if Every Light That Shines At Christmas is on iTunes yet. I usually download songs/albums from iTunes since I have an iPod. This year sure has flown by. It's hard to believe Christmas is less than 3 months away.

I read and rated this and I don't see any evidence that it showed up. Well, I rated again. I hope not all my rates didn't stick. I know they are tonight because I'm double checking.

I'm not really listening to Christmas music yet. I just listened to that new CD and of course since I sing in the church choir I am now learning the music for our Christmas Cantata. The choir director is giving us our CDs Wednesday with our parts on it so then I will be l listening to Christmas music more on a regular basis to prepare for the cantata. la la la la la la la la la!!
