Erie Insurance —

I agree Erie Insurance has competitive rate and decent service.  However, they will do anything possible to dodge their responsibility to fulfill their liability to pay claims.  Their cheap rate is at the cost of their policy holders not getting fair pay-outs and unfairness to others who are brought into an ugly situations of having to deal with Erie Insurance because the damages were caused by Erie policy holders.

This is absolutely the WORST insurance company I ever has to deal with.  They are an unethical insurance carrier.  I was shocked by their dealing with my claim until I consulted attorneys in my region.  The lawyers unanimously told me this has been the way Erie practices over the years.

Please do yourself and others a favor by dropping Erie Insurance.  You are unknowling hurt yourself and others by funding an unethical company.  They are only interested in taking your premium, not providing fair service to the claimants.

My husband and I have just had our first encounter with Erie Insurance, and we have found them to be just as you say. I was hit from behind by an Erie client who was in a Silverado with a snow plow attachment on the front while I was stopped at a traffic light (cars in front, medial to left--no way to avoid the eventual impact). Accident report and a witness, along with the driver of the Silverado all stated that I was 100 percent the victim. Erie has totaled my car, and using only one comparison, they decided it was only worth $2600 less the buy back salvage value of $250. Look, people, I was an innocent victim here. I should not be punished because my car, albiet perfect in every respect and very well maintained, is 12 years old! With what they are offering, not only can I not replace this wonderful car with an equal, but I also cannot afford to have it fixed and then R-titled in order to get it back on the road. What a group of unethical people! Well, what goes around comes around. Hope no one hits the adjuster's vehicle in the rear when he least expects it and can least afford it. Though if it happens, I hope he remembers what he has done to others in this position.
