Most HelpfulI am a baby wearing enthusiast that owns or has owned most of the carriers on the market. The Ergo is a very well made, durable soft carrier that provides excellent support for both mom and baby. I found it very easy to use from the start. I did no end up keeping the Ergo for very long because I felt...

Most HelpfulI didn't want to give up running and hiking with my toddler in a carrier BUT he is only a couple pounds away from the 32lb limit on our carrier.
I looked into carriers and the one with the best reviews for comfort and etc that is a toddler carrier too (goes up to 40lbs) is the ergo. But these things are EXPENSIVE!!!
So I sold a couple diapers and cashed in some $$$ from a survey site I do and came up with enough for an ergo :) I went looking on diaperswappers (which had great prices but I never got to them in time) and ebay where I came across a brand new in package ergo buy it now...
review »I bought this when my daughter was 4 months old and I would say it is the single best baby purchase I have made. We took our daughter on a 9000 mile roadtrip when she was 4-6 months old and the Ergo made the trip so much easier. We took her everywhere in it. She was so comfortable and enjoyed being close to us. It was so comfortable that my husband and I literally would fight over who got to carry her in it. We both love using the Ergo!!
When all of my Baby Bjorn-wearing friends' babies got to be about 4 months they were too heavy to babywear any longer, and they all complained about how uncomfortable...
review »The Ergo baby carrier is the best of the best! I started with a bjorn and was always having to re-situate my baby, tighten the straps, or sit down because my back would hurt. Then my sister told me about the Ergo and let me borrow hers and I loved it. This thing holds the baby in place, can be worn more ways that the bjorn can, keeps the straps where you set them at and provides a thick buckle strap for back support. It's great! Unlike most baby carriers this can be worn front, back, or hip which is great! It is very lightweight material so it breathes very well and isnt bulky. The Ergo also can...
review »I have been wearing my daughter since she was born. First in a sling and then moved on to the Bjorn.
Once she hit 15lbs.my shoulders and back screamed in protest. I have to travel often and I tried out all kinds of other carriers. The backpack ones, like the Kelty, distributed her weight well but were bulky and awkward. The slings and front carriers started to strain my back after only 20 min and EVERYTHING was a hassle to take off and put back on trying to get through the airport security checkpoint. Traveling by myself with an infant was a nightmare.
Enter the ERGO...I discovered...
review »When I had my son three years ago, I knew I would be a baby wearer. But it took a long time for me to find the perfect tool for the job. I had a moby wrap, an ultimate baby carrier, a baby bjorn, a hand made mei tai, and a side carry sling. But it was not until a friend gave me an Ergo Baby that I finally figured out how easy babywearing could be. Don't get me wrong, the others were great for when he was an infant, but as my son got bigger, and fast, they were all too hard on my back.
The Ergo Baby Carrier puts the weight on your hips, not on your shoulders and back, so it makes it much easier...
review »and so do I! I started out with the Moby wrap and that worked fairly well for us, but it was a hot to wear, inconvenient to wrap when out and about, and tricky (but possible) to nurse in. I knew I wanted something else, but baby carriers are expensive and one could easily spend a fortune trying out all the variations.
We decided on the Ergo and we couldn't be happier. We've had it for six months now and it is the number one thing I could not live without as far as all baby gear is concerned. I too was worried about her only facing inwards, but she has never minded and she seems to prefer it. She...
As a mom of eight children, all nursed and baby-worn, I've tried several baby carriers over the years. The cheap ones are simply not worth the money, and after going through several of them I bought a Bjorn when my oldest was still a baby. I loved it and still think that it is a GREAT carrier, but a couple of babies ago I switched to an Ergo and never looked back. I had shoulder surgery between children, and even though three years went by before having the next baby, I found that the Bjorn hurt my shoulder once the baby was a couple of months old. I decided to try the Ergo since so many...
review »I had an Ergo for awhile and it is a decent carrier. I think the big issue is what you are used to using prior to using an Ergo, if you've used other carriers, including wraps, Mei Tais, Buckle Tais, etc you might find it lacking. Those who are a bit intimidated by carriers sometimes find it a nice step into the world of better babywearing carriers.
I'd definitely put Ergo into the category of good carriers, unlike Snugglies, Baby Bjorns and Baby Trekkers who hold the baby in anatomically incorrect positions and put too much force on the hips. The fact that this carrier is widely known and carried...
review »Oh Ergo Baby, how do I love thee, let me count the ways. I am not quite sure what I would do without the Ergo baby carrier. It calms a crying baby, it is great for walks outside in the rain with an umbrella (no bulky wet stroller), it is gentle on my back, fits both mommy and daddy, super durable, practical, safe, and just all around praise-worthy!
I want to emphasize that waiting until baby is old enough is not necessary with this carrier, it is great with a new born and promotes the bond and closeness of parent and child. She is so happy when she is snuggled there, and at this age (2.5 mo) she...
review »I bought an Ergo to use with my son when he was about 5 months old. I had previously used a Kelty Kangaroo, and loved that, but he was getting too big for it. I found that the Ergo takes so getting used to in terms of getting him in it easily, but the older he gets, the easier it is getting.
For wearing him across my chest, the Ergo is very comfortable. The straps are padded really well, so they don't dig. I never used it with an infant insert, so I have no idea if that makes it more or less comfortable. The only difficulty I have with using it for a baby in front is that it's really...
