These redness reliever eye drops are effective for what they are designed for, as they do help clear up redness. For this purpose, they seem to be as effective as other brand-name products that are designed for the same thing but cost more money. To me personally, I would prefer to pay less for the Equate brand version than pay more for a name brand product that doesn't seem to give any better results than this one. The downside to this product is that I would not recommend using it for long term use, but I would say the same thing about any brand of this product. Pretty much any redness reliever for the eyes works by reducing the blood flow through the veins of the eye, often by restricting the size of the veins. Over the short term, this can help reduce redness and bring more comfort to the eyes. But personally, I would be very hesitant to use it over the long term, when considering what the long term consequences could be of constantly restricting blood flow to an essential part of the body.
