i have ha this printer for about six years. It was not too expensive but thats just because they want you to buy their ink. The good think about their ink is that it uses four different cartridges so you only have to switch the color that is out. It has many options and lets you do everything other than fax. It takes a minute to turn on and is not the fatest at printing. I wouldn't really reccomend it for printing pictures from your camera because I always do that at a store. We have had a few problems over the six years with it but it works fine now. However now there are much better printers that have differnet features and this model is discontiued. That is why I am giving the Epson Stylus CX7800 4 Stars.

I have owned the Epson Stylus CX7800 All-In-One Inkjet Printer for a few years now. As far as how it prints, I can't really complain. However, my real issue with it (and maybe this is standard with Epson, I don't know) is the ink. I purchased the printer because I liked the fact that it used four separate ink cartridges (cyan, magenta, yellow and black), so when you run out of one color, you don't have to buy a single four-color cartridge and throw out all the good ink left on the old one. But what sucks is that the printer won't let you print anything if you run out of a single color. There is no way to print, even if you don't care whether one color is missing... you have no choice but to replace the empty cartridge, and if you don't happen to have one on you, you're screwed until you can buy another one. I live an hour away from the nearest store where my ink is sold, and I just don't print enough "important" things to care if they come out faded once in a while - I think that should be my choice, anyway.

I am a photographer and first I would like to say that the picture quality is nice, but I would never use this printer to print photos for my business - but as an at home office computer it is wonderful! We have had this printer for like 5 years now! And it still works wonderfully, I've never needed to have it repaired and it had installed easily as we have upgraded our computers 3 times in that time!  The scanning option is a little slow - but I think they all are... And the copier is great as well - we use it for school sheets - I really like the display you can choose your copy options right on the front and not have to deal with scanning an image and then printing it from the computer its all right there - There is an option for your SD cards or other media cards to be stuck in to the front which is nice for fast printing - but like I said I wouldn't give these pictures to my customers!

I am a professional photographer and needed a printer that was affordable and would do prints up 24 inches wide. I have always bought Epson in the past and this printer has the capability to print on all types of papers as well as canvas. I was extremely pleased that it did fine art Black & White. Toning prints is of the true nature as if you worked in the darkroom without the chemicals. I have  worked with this printer for almost 3 years and it has never failed me. The quality of the inks and papers make this machine a great asset to my business. I could not imagine life without it. I recommend this to any professional photographer who knows how important it is to control their own prints. If you are looking to produce high quality prints and not spend a fortune than this is the printer for you. I have printed many canvas' and prints with very little maintenance. Epson makes it very easy to keep your printer features and functionality up to date by going to their support site and downloading the newest firmware. It has been a pleasure owning this printer and producing the quality prints for my clients.
