We have owned the Epson Stylus CX4400 All-In-One InkJet Printer for about three years now, and I am so sorry to say, but I hate this printer! Its printing isn't all that bad, though every now and then it will skip words and lines of words, and ever doing all kinds of tests on it, we realize that there's nothing actually wrong, it just has to be powered down and back up again. No, my main issue with this printer is how much ink it sucks. Even though I have it set to the lowest, slowest quality of printing that it has, it still prints so few pages before needing a refill. What's more is that it has this crazy quality to it where if ANY of the ink colors are out (red, blue, yellow, or black) it will not print period. So if my blue runs out, even though it has a full tank of black, and I'm printing in black, it will not allow it to print. Also, it actually uses a little bit of all the colors when printing black...so you think that you're only using the black ink, but it will slowly drain the others as well, and that gets expensive. I really just wish I had a plain, black and white, crappy printer sometimes.

I received this with the purchase of my new computer. I should have known that free was not quality when it came to an electronic item. I have never owned a nice printer but I have seen a lot of much quicker and higher quality print outs. This printer seems to eat ink and is SO SLOOOOOOW! I really have wanted to throw it out the window. When I change the ink cartridge I have to run a head cleaning twice before it is printing without lines in text. Head cleanings use ink so there goes even more ink. I have to say the scanner is good. Whenever I have to scan something it has been good quality. I would never buy this printer. The reason I say unreliable is because I don't know when it will print something poorly. The ink level will say that it is full but half of the page will be missing portions of text or whole lines of a picture will be missing. I have to print documents that are legible. I do not think that is too much to ask.
