general ink printer

3

I've had this printer for about three years. It's good for the casual paper to print for college, coupons, or forms. You have a few options to try a save ink, like printing in "draft". The printer does a decent good in printing but if you are someone who will be printing a lot, you should find something else. This is a good printer for the occasional printing. Be aware, you must have at least some ink in the printer in all colors to be able to print. I ran out of yellow and attempted to print a black and white paper for school and it refused to print saying I was out of ink. I had to print my paper elsewhere and then had to buy new color ink to be able to print in black (and color, of course). I love the fact thta you can print on both sides of the paper as an option. It's fairly easy to figure out with the simple instructions that come up when prompted to printing double-sided. You can also print in black-and-white if the original is in color. The ink prices are a bit pricey but then so is all ink. I do feel that the ink is used up fairly quickly so the ink expense can add up quickly if you print a lot. Therefore going back to my original suggestion, don't get this printer if you print a lot. This is a good basic printer.

The Epson Stylus CS3810 is a great value for the cost.

We were given the Epson Stylus CX3810 as a Christmas present.  At the time I had my doubts on the quality of the printer because of the inexpensive price tag.  I was afraid that for that cost it would not do all the I need it to do; but I was wrong.  No matter what job I have attempted I am completely satisfied. I have used the Epson Stylus CX3810 many times just for the copying capabilites.  The copies always come out crisp and clear.  The only thing I would improve would be the ability to select the number of copies I can make at any one time.  As the printer will only make one copy at a time, it sometimes becomes a little time consuming. I have used the Epson Stylus CX3810 a few times for scanning.  It seems to well and has good software support for the documents scanned.  As a printer the Epson Stylus CX3810 does a great job.  I do a lot of printing and have never had any trouble with any aspect the printer.  As with most printers the ink never seems to last long enough but I do not feel that this printer uses any more than any other brand on the market. Overall I am very happy with the Epson Stylus CX3810.

Great all around printer!

This is a great printer and has great printing quality. It's very easy to use and great software that comes with it. To scan you just need to press a button and the program will pop up on your computer. You can make black and white or color copies with a press of a button. You could actually print some high quality photos off this too. I got this after finding a good deal and I needed something to print fast, reputable brand and scan, but a bonus was the ability to print great photos. Make sure you get glossy paper for it to maximize the quality though! A con is that ink is expensive! The ink is great quality though, I never have complaints when my printed pages come out. Very fast, not sure what the ppm is, but it shoots out pretty fast and looks great! If it was wireless I'd be set, but we can't expect this since it is pretty old. I print pretty frequently but the ink seems to last longer than my older HP printer. I forget the model, but I'd say I can print for about half a year. I print somewhere from 10-15 pages every two or three days. Hope this helps.

cheap but useful

4

First off, Epson Stylus makes pretty durable printers. They are cheap and reliable and they last forever. However, the reason that they are cheap is because they make all their revenue and money from overcharging you on your ink. Over many years, this ink price adds up. This printer is reliable and is used very often, however, I think that the amount of ink used is too much. Over time, the machine decays and it thinks you used up ink faster than you did. Sometimes you can slosh around the ink in the cartridge so you know that their is ink but the cartridge is read as empty. If you want a cheap printer for occassional printing then this is the printer to go. Buying cheap non brand ink on the internet would be an alternate solution to buying expensive ink. In fact, I think buying ink was more expensive the the printer itself. If you want a reliable, no nonsense, and durable printer for moderate to no printing, this is the one.

Epson Stylus CX3810

3

I received the Epson Stylus CX3810 All-in-One printer as a hand-me-down after my last one stopped working. Although the name says all-in-one, this printer only prints, copies, and scans; it does not fax. The software that came with the printer was lost, but was easily attainable by going to the Epson website. This printer is quite easy to use with not a lot of buttons to confuse you. This printer connects to your computer via USB. I think those are the only pros. The list of cons is a bit longer. The printer is approximately 17x14x7, which I feel is on the large side. It also prints slower than most everyday printers. When printing shipping labels it takes approximately 30 seconds, per page. This may be due to the "text and image" setting when printing, but unfortunately any setting below this results in blurry/uneven/missing text and ink smears. I've tried the troubleshooting techniques but not only did they not work, they used up about a fourth of the ink. The ink cartridges are also ridiculously expensive and run out faster than other manufacturer's ink cartridges. I would not recommend this printer.

Epson CX3810 is an okay printer, but expensive ink.

This printer is great when you're printing photo quality, but it doesn't work so well in the text or draft mode. I've had this printer for about 4 years. i don't think it works as well now as it did when we first got it, but that's to be expected. I like the edge-to-edge printing feature for printing most things, but when printing labels it always has problems, and the printing ends up too high or too low on the label, even though I'm using one of the label templates. The ink is also very expensive, as is all Epson ink, but you can buy ink replacements that aren't Epson brand for it. This seems to work okay, too, although I've wondered if that's why the draft and text printing don't work well. The scanner/copier feature does a really nice job, too, although the scanner seems really slow to me. Also, it takes a long time to print when it's on photo quality, and since that's the way it pirnts the best, it's frustrating when you need to print something quickly but there's no way to get  good quality of it it a short amount of time.

Great for the average home office

4

We bought this printer over 2 years ago and have never had any problems with it. I buy the ink online, not OEM, and have never had a problem with the ink either. It's a little slow on printing so if you do print a lot you would want one a little faster. I have never printed photos on actual photo paper from it, so I can't review that, but it prints pictures on regular paper quite nicely. Overall good buy for the average home office.

Good for average use.

The printing needs in our home can be broken down as 98% school/work assignments and 15% birthday cards and 5% photos. With that taken into consideration, we are pretty happy with our Epson CX3810. We got it almost 3 years ago and it is still going strong. The quality of printing is good with a few snags here and there. The photos don't always print great, so I have to adjust the color settings on a picture editing software before printing them. The scanner works well too. We've scanned quite a few pictures and documents and the Epson program is very easy to use. One problem I had was that Epson ink, like any other ink, is expensive. As a result, I started using remanufactured ink soon after getting the printer. But a few months ago (Probably 2 and a half years into the printer's life) it started rejecting the ink and only worked with genuine Epson ink. This was a problem, but one cartridge later, it started accepting remanufactured ink again. This was a bit of a hassle, but it wasn't significant enough for me to not recommend this printer. If your use is mainly basic and not for fancy scrapbooking purposes, this is a good printer.

The Epson CX3810 is just an average all-in-one

3

First, the thing I like most about this machine is that as with many Epson printers you only need to replace whatever color ink cartridge runs out rather than a combo cartridge simply because you are out of 1 color. That said however, the ink cartrdiges are small and don't last long, the paper feed seems to be unusually loud and "clunky", and in my opinion the overall print quality is just average for all-in-ones. The controls are not the most intuitive and user friendly, and if you use ink cartridge refills, the screen prompt that will open up advising you that you should instead be using "genuine Epson cartridges" can be downright irritating. It will actually do this, and you'll need to close this open window before it will allow you to print your document. Overall, I am much happier with my Hewlett-Packard all-in-one, and probably would not recommend this model to anyone. It isn't a "bad" machine, I just think there are far better choices within the same price range.

Erson Stylus CX3810 All around workhorse for copy, print, pics

Epson Stylus CX 3810   Results in copy, printing and scanning are more than satisfactory. Pictures print equally well from scanner and printer. It is somewhat slower than other three-in-ones that I have seen or used. Quality of print, copy and scan are, in my opinion, are very good.
