Ephesus is certainly an awe-inspiring destination and is well-worth a visit if you are in Turkey. The one drawback is that it is difficult to reach and requires either a pricey flight or a harrowing 12-hour bus ride. Since it isn't close to many other tourist sites you really have to commit to visiting it. But the grandeur of the city is amazing. So take that crazy bus ride and go see history reveal itself.
