After having my daughter, she was taken from me right away and had to be put on machines for the first 12 hours that she was born. The nurses would try and feed her about every 1-2 hours, but she just wasn't keeping anything down. When my twins were born 5 weeks early, they were kept in the hospital for a few weeks. They were trying to eat, but anytime they gave them ANY type of formula, they threw it up and they weren't gaining weight. We discovered that as long as they were only being fed my breastmilk, they would gain weight. It was so exhausting for me. My daughter had so many problem with the baby formulas when she was born she was on three different kinds.
