Enemy at the Gates —

Enemy at the Gates is one of the greatest war flicks to ever grace the footsteps of Film.   Jude Law stars as peasant named  Vassily Zaitsev turned sniper during the battle of Stalingrad.    His character  hides in the ruins of Stalingrad taking out dozens of enemy Nazis   His kills have become some sort of celebrated feat as every nazi he caps off is marked down on a score sheet and shown around town in the local headlines.  Vassily is the hero of today and for everyone around him , Giving everyone hope that soon the crucial times will pass.

Naturally though , need such a celebrity deceased.  So the germans hire a Sniper (Ed Harris) themselves to end Vassily's headcount with his own.  Dont take this the wrong way but Ed Harris plays a fabulous Nazi Sniper.   KoeNig (Ed Harris) is a smart evil chracter that knows Vassilys moves before he even makes them and he will stop at nothing to finish his mission.

It Comes down to both of these characters trying to place a single bullet into the brain of the other.   Doing so would thus settle the battle of stalingrad and WWII once and for all.

THere are other characters throughout this suspenseful action adventure.  Which IMO kind of gets off track of the real story with a big Love Triangle between Jude Law , Rachel Weiss and Joseph Fiennes.   All are Nazi soldiers and all Cause Jude Laws character to make tough choices in his ventures of becoming the victor.   All in all this is a very enjoyable movie , slow paced at times but not a horrible slow.  Gets you on the edge of your seat making you wonder whats going to come around the corner next.
