My husband and I took our son to see Disney's Enchanted today. I was a little worried going in since my son is only 3, but he was enchanted by the movie from the first moment it started.

Disney's Enchanted movie is the story of a princess that gets sent to NYC just before her wedding day. You get to watch as she discovers life as a "human"-- riding the subway, getting dressed, cleaning house, and of course-- dating.

The actress who plays the princess is so sweet and believable. She really sucks you into the movie and plays the part well. (notice I say actress because even after seeing the movie I have no idea who she is.... but she was great! I give her total props)

I thought Enchanted was an adorable Disney film that parents and adults could equally enjoy. And, as a parent of toddlers, I would say you are pretty safe if your child is scared of "dark" characters. There are about 10 total minutes of "mean people".

p.s. Patrick Dempsey fans-- he has a lot of face time in the movie. So, dont fear, you will get your fill!

All of these people are right--went to see it on our 20th anniversary by chance and it was perfect!! Charm, humor, fantasy, reality, a number of real stretches of reality (but obvious if life were also an animated life). Several reference to 'signs of the times' from older animated films and surprises you with references to many previous animated films by Disney as well as others. Worth the time, money and a good movie!

We have been waiting for it to come to our movie screen down here. It sounds like a real good movie. My grandchildren can hardly wait to see it and from the reviews I can't either.

I'm glad I read your review. I'm planning on taking my 3 year old grandaughter and was afraid she might be a little too young, but after reading your review I'm going to take her this weekend!

I agree. Amy Adams did a lovely job. I only wish they had let Narissa (Susan Sarandon) and/or Nancy (Idina Menzell) sing as well! My sister-in-law and I, with my best friend, took my almost-4yo niece to this film. We all had a great time. I love how the animals react to Giselle even when she is in non-animated form!

I am the kind of grownup that is completely "charmed" by movies like this so I'm glad to hear the good review. The fact that she winds up in NY should just delight me that much more since I'm sure I'll be amused.

I can't wait to see this one! I'm glad you enjoyed it and glad to hear that it is a good movie! I would hate to be disappointed in a Patrick Dempsey movie...lol!

I saw it Friday night and also enjoyed it. It definitely was better than I expected and was downright clever in spots. There are a couple of laugh-out-loud spots too, especially the bird eating the cockroach. The actress who plays the princess is Amy Adams... not very well known but she does a good job. --Bob

And I bet, judging by the Patrick Dempsey reference, that you're a Dr. McDreamy fan, right?
