Before using this epilator I had to shave my underarms everyday and my legs about every 2 days and it was a pain literally with the waxing I tried also. Emjoi has many types of epilators and other brands have them out as well but this is the most superior one on the market I have seen so I decided to save up and get this one which was a good idea it has two speed levels, I use the low speed under my arms since I'm more tender there and the higher speed on my legs. Since using the epilator it takes about a week for my underarm hairs to grow back and my leg about a week and half so thats a big difference to me and also there are places on my legs where hair grows back even slower so its like I barely have any hair at all there. If you have dark hair like me I recommend this to you because when you shave your underarms you might have slightly dark underarms right? this is a result from shaving the hairs and the roots are still left under the skin causing a "shadow" or darkened appearance, when you pull out the the whole hair from root to tip with the epilator the pores the hair follicles were growing in now seem brighter because there empty now with no dark hairs causing shadow effects. This also applies to any where else you shave like your legs if you have that "pepper" look to them you shaved the hair thats above the skin the roots are still left behind giving you that pepper look to them when you pull the hairs out with the epilator you have smooth brighter legs with reduced pores because there is no hair follicles taking up space in the pores causing them to reduce slightly the hair regrowth will take longer than normal which is great for us. the trick to get all the hairs picked up in one passing and to places of the skin that are cushiony is to exfoliate when your in the shower that will keep the skin smooth an keep irritation away also it will open the pores from the warm water in the shower allowing the hairs to be pulled out with ease and reducing pain, pull the skin tight the whole time by doing all of that it takes me 10 mins to do both legs I highly recommend

This Emjoi is good to remove hair.

I have only used this Emjoi for about five times and I have used it on my face, legs, and hands. I enjoy using this epilator because it is strong because it is a plug in. It is a little scary using it on my face but I was careful enough and because it is strong, it removed hairs rather quickly.and painlessly. It also worked well in my armpit area. The great thing about this Emjoi is that it does not tug at my skin. My only complaint is the numerous ingrown hairs on my legs, but I am pretty sure that is not the fault of the Emjoi because it does not happen anywhere else. I love the fact that this Emjoi gets the job done so quickly and I do not have to try to make it remove hair from my skin. It is effortless and so far I love it.

Gets the job done painlessly as possible

I bought this product when my Braun Silk Epli suddenly stopped working after 2 or so years. I'd read all the reviews and love the fact that it had 72 tweezer heads. It's way more comfortable then the Braun was and I'd always been happy with that one. The Braun had a light and I'm missing that terribly - which would pretty much make this model perfect. I did order it from another "boutique" catalog company as they have a LIFETIME satisfaction quarantee, so I paid a little more than the chealest price offered on Amazon. But, so far, I have been very happy with the device. It works on thick hairs, think hairs, blonde non existent hairs and fairly short hairs. I've never been bothered by the pain factor in ANY epilator and I've had one since that very first coil device thing came out in the late 80's. It's certainly been my experience that some are way les comfortable than others (they pull the hair, but don't entirely remove it OR they catch the skin). I can honestly say that this one (so far) has been the most comfortable. Like I said, a light would make it perfect.

Works ok, if you can take the pain

Okay, I know what an epilator is, an I didn't expect using this thing to be a walk in the park, but I was not quite prepared for how painful it would actually be. I have very corse hair on my lower legs, and I was hoping that this would be the magic potion to cure my affliction. I will say that the hair does grow back less thick, and my legs are really smooth (after the red bumps disappear), but it takes several painful passes to achieve the desired results. Another drawback is that you have to let the hair grow for a while for the epilator to really work, so it may be best to try it first during the winter, or at least at a time you won't be wearing shorts. This model plugs in, which I prefer to batteries, and it comes in a lovely shade of red (if that kind of thing matters to you). I guess if you are already using epilators, and immune to the pain, this is a pretty good one. If you're a first time user, don't say I didn't warn ya!

**The Emjoi AP 18 emagine dual opposed 72 tweezer head epilator, is not the first epilator I've ever purchased from Emjoi.  In fact this was the 4th one.  And the fourth one was the charm.  It does was it says and more.  It removes hair from your legs to the point I only have to use it once every two weeks.  I have less hair growth due to how the epilator pulls the hair out and the root. I use it on my underarm and now I virtually don't have any underarm hair at all.  I also, very carefully use it on my upper lip as instructed and it works like a charm.  I don't use it on my arms only because I don't need too, but if I needed too, I would.  I have saved myself hundreds of razor nicks and burns, and just the money in razors and creams.  This particular unit is one of the most expensive units, but I have used so many of the units that are considered under this one, and I recommend to go for the gold and don't waist your money on the others when this one works so very well.**

I had heard some recommendations about epilating and decided to try it out. The Emjoi Epilator can be a bit expensive but over time it pays for itself. Especially if you wax. The first time using my epilator was pretty painful but I must say, the first time is definitely the worst. It gets easier each time and after a little while it doesn't even hurt anymore. I even mustered up the strength to do my underarms. I'll admit that it was more painful than doing my legs for the 1st time, probably because its a higher concentration of hair but at least its a small area so its done fairly quickly. After getting through my first time epilating under the arms the next time was a cinch! In my opinion, there wasn't as much hair and it was already thinning out. So far i'm loving this product! My sister has become really interested in it as well and we have both been telling our friends all about it. It has been great for me because i have very dark, thick hair so this process is actually thinning out the hair and i dont need to deal with it as much. When i used to shave, it would cut off the hair but you could still see the dark roots under the skin. Epilating takes care of this problem! It is a bit loud but its really not a big deal. Just don't use it at night while people around you are sleeping! The only downside I can find this this product is that i have been getting ingrown hairs. Not the irritated ones but basically hairs that just grow under the skin so you can see the hair but there is a thin layer of skin over it. Basically you need to exfoliate in the shower and it should take care of the problem! Overall, I'm loving this product and really glad that i spent the money on it!
