A slow, but really solid microwave.

Comments about Emerson 900 Watt 0.9 Cubic Feet Microwave oven:

This microwave was a pretty good deal, as it was quite inexpensive. It is pretty effective at defrosting soups and vegetables, melting butter, and reheating leftovers. It pretty much does everything I need. I will say, that it is a little slow. Things might need to heat for 30-60 seconds more than you would think. But other than that, no complaints!

This microwave needs to go to school!

By

Comments about Emerson 900 Watt 0.9 Cubic Feet Microwave oven:

We have had the same microwave oven for 15 years. We bought it from an elderly woman that was moving into a nursing home and it was too big for her small room. She bought it when microwaves first became affordable for the average household. It had a dial timer and a slider to select the temperature setting. It was huge, big enough to cook a turkey! It started to take longer to heat things and we had no choice but to replace it, but were very strapped for cash. I found this Emerson 900 Watt Microwave Oven for a very reasonable price and remembered owning a few Emerson products in the past that were very trustworthy. It has several one touch settings. It has a rotating dish that distributes the heat evenly and quickly. It is small enough to leave room on the counter for all of the dirty dishes, yet large enough to use the big mixing bowl that is the last clean bowl in the house. It is good looking and quiet when running (and when it's not running). A visiting friend commented that they have the same microwave and have enjoyed it for years. I'm so happy with it that I think it will make a great item to send to the dorms with my kids!

I have been using this microwave for more than two years now. I bought it in a garage sale that clearly says it has been used even more. It is very convenient to use, effective for cooking, de freezing, warming and making popcorn. I am a person who cooks food almost 7 days a week and have loved it s efficiency in my kitchen!! Hope to have it for th years to come!

Emerson Microwave Oven Great for the cost

By

from Langhorne, PA

Comments about Emerson 900 Watt 0.9 Cubic Feet Microwave oven:

This is a pleasant microwave oven that I bought on sale and found to be a very good appliance. I'll start with my only two complaints: Believe it or not this microwave is like a dirt and crumb magnet. It absorbs everything it cooks and gets very messy very often. My other complaint is that there's way too many settings on the microwave. I must admit I don't know how to use it completely just yet. I like to to cook my popcorn at 2 minutes and 20 seconds but every time I go to push the 2 button it automatically starts at 2 minutes. It's a cool feature but now I have to use the popcorn button because I can't microwave my popcorn at 2:20. There's settings for just about anything you can think of in relation to microwaving food. On the outside, this Emerson Microwave is very attractive looking and complimenting to our kitchen with its sleek, black exterior. The glass rotating dish often falls out of alignment. That's another complaint I have. It's not securely fitted inside at all and often has to be readjusted.

Excellent Emerson Microwave!

Comments about Emerson 900 Watt 0.9 Cubic Feet Microwave oven:

I have only good things to say about the Emerson 900 Watt 0.9 Cubic Feet Microwave oven MW8998B! Seriously, this microwave is great. The control panel is simple to use and easy to figure out. I've used other mircrowaves before where the buttons are so confusing and it takes 7 minutes just to figure out how to reheat a plate of food. This is NOT the case with this microwave. It's pretty straightforward and anyone, and I mean anyone, can figure it out and would have no problem heating whatever they need to heat. There are even buttons with pre-set times for different food items to help you just in case you're not sure how long you might need to re-heat something for. These buttons include: Popcorn, Potato, Pizza, Beverage, Soup, Dinner Plate, Fresh Vegetable, and Frozen Vegetable. Changing the clock when needed is incredibly simple as well and the button to open the microwave is easy to pop open. This microwave has been awesome and I'd recommend it to anyone!

Emerson is becoming a better brand by the decade

By

from Hampton, VA

Comments about Emerson 900 Watt 0.9 Cubic Feet Microwave oven:

I bought my Emerson microwave to replace my sony microwave.  I paid less than one hundred for this microwave which made me question the quality.  I know Emerson manufactures a wide variety of products but i never knew it to be one of the top brands.  I now believe it should be.  This is an affordable prodcut and durable.  My grandson knocked the microwave on the floor twice and it still works like a charm.  Even the glass tray inside was thick enough to withstand the manhandling.  Emerson is also keeping with the times with styling.  It has several quick preset buttons which is a good and a bad modern style.  If i am cooking a baked potato or popcorn, those buttons are handy.  They are inconvenient because neither of those items cook for the same length of time every time so I still have to do a manual set in the end.  I also dislike the fact that i have to enter whole minutes for cook times.  If I want to warm something quick, the minimum warm time is one minute.
