The Embassy Suites experience was overall positive. The pool with the waterfall was pretty and refreshing. We enjoyed the breakfast which included cooked eggs to your preference. The front desk staff were always friendly, gave restaurant and tour advice, and most importantly allowed early check-in on the day of arrival (though we could not have a late check-out). The rooms were basically clean, but noticed they never gave us new glass bathroom cups throughout our stay. The hotel had an evening complimentary cocktail reception that was nice. Our room had a strong odor of a 'deodorizer' and we suspected it had been a smoking room as the hallway often had a faint odor of cigarette smoke. We were told that it was a non-smoking room. After a few minutes in the room the odor was not noticeable.The other room the family had rented was several doors away, around a corner, and was fine. That same odor was not evident in that room. Embassy Suites was comfortable. It is not directly on the beach but is only about 2 blocks from it. Staff was very nice. Close to some good places to eat (Metropol) and Salsa dancing (Oyster Bar has live band on Sunday). However, when I asked staff for reccomendations they didn't really have any. Comfortable place to stay but do your research on restaurants/activities in the area before you go. $19 cab to Old San Juan from here, but better to stay in this area and visit Old San Juan one day rather than vice versa. The room was a nice size and truly a suite with a self contained bedroom. Housekeeping service was very good. The front desk personnel responded well to inquiries and the situation of the dysfunctinal printer. The amenities of breakfast and the reception added to the attractiveness of the hotel. Most of the fitness equipment was not working. The Embassy Suites in Isla Verde-Carolina PR was an excellent stay. Every morning we had a great continental breakfast which saved a good amount of money in this trip. In addition, the manager's special was awesome. Cocktails were available every day for a two hour period and best of all, you can walk a couple of steps to your very own hotel casino. Walk a block more and you are at the beach. Overall, the staff was very friendly and professional. Oh and the tour host recommended by the hotel was also a plus. The Embassy Suites was very comfortable, very clean, and the suite was even larger than I expected, with a separate couch and television in the second room. The microwave and refrigerator were great money savers for snacks. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The location was pretty good -- just two blocks from the beach -- but all the shopping, attractions, dining, and nightlife were a $15-20 minute taxi ride away. My girlfriend and I stayed at the "Suites" for 3 nights. The rooms were more than what we expected and the free breakfast was a nice touch. I will say that you do have to arrive early to get breakfast otherwise its a long wait time. Its not the greatest breakfast, but its free. We never took advatage of the pool mainly because we were too busy enjoying the other sites.Money Savers: Not Applicable, If your staying for more that 2 nights i would definately recommend you rent-a-car. Great hotel very friendly people, very helpful. Two room suite, sitting room with table, little sofa, TV, refrigerator, and little sink, coffee pot and cups. The bedroom nice size with large bed, clean sheets and nice size closet with safe and we had a great view of the pool and the island. The staff is very friendly. The pool is gorgeous. The hotel is close to the strip in Isla Verde so walking to the other casinos, restaurants, etc. is easy. Staff also made great recommendations for dining. I took my Granddaughter & her friend to San Juan for her high schoolgraduation present. This hotel was perfect for this trip. We were close enough to the beach for comfort, the pool is very nice.
