Embassy Suites was comfortable. It is not directly on the beach but is only about 2 blocks from it. Staff was very nice. Close to some good places to eat (Metropol) and Salsa dancing (Oyster Bar has live band on Sunday). However, when I asked staff for reccomendations they didn't really have any. Comfortable place to stay but do your research on restaurants/activities in the area before you go. $19 cab to Old San Juan from here, but better to stay in this area and visit Old San Juan one day rather than vice versa. All rooms are Suites and it is nice to have the space. Staff very responsive to requests. Pool is nice, but close to freeway somewhat hidden by pool greenery. Might bother some but I did not find it offensive.
