I always like to buy the lowest-price item, and when it comes to computers, I go with Emachines desktops which comes with the printers and CRT screens. The printer can be any brand, and I've had Hewlett-Packard and Lexmark so far. They are usually available in a store like Circuit City or Best Buy.… read full review »

Received this computer last year for Christmas and have been pleased overall. I have never had a crash. I use the computer every day and the only problems I have noticed are that it sometimes runs slow and at times usb devices stop responding. The problem usually resolves after a minute or two with no action necessary by me. I have only had to reboot to solve the problem once or twice. Iwould recommend this product if you need a decent pc that won't break the… read full review »

This is a great computer.  It doesn't have all the extras you'd find in other bundle packages of HP or other, but it has it's fair share.  I had my first one for over 5 years until the lightening made our electric surge and it burnt out the modem.  I've had the 2nd one now for about 2 years.  I'd definitely reccomend it to the budget struck people out… read full review »

I saw this computer first in Best Buy the price was right for me. A customer before me brought the last one in stock. While I was at WalMart the same day I saw the same computer for the same price and was able to make a purchase. It was easy for me to hook up and I've been working on it daily since February 10, 2008. It is very easy for me to… read full review »

I was thrilled when i saw the emachines computer on sale at best buy in december of 2006.  Mainly because I believed it was a trusting brand and the rebates i would get back were around $600 total.  Which was like paying only $200 for a desktop computer.  It worked great initially and i didn't mind that  i had to do quite a bit of work collecting everything i needed to send through mail to make sure i got my rebate.  However, not even a few months later, after i had already received my rebates, the computer failed quite a few times in one day!  It would… read full review »

In 2007, we went to Wal-Marts and bought the E Machines desktop computer. Within the first 6 months, we started having problems with it crashing, turning on by itself and off by itself. We took it to Best Buy where they replaced the motor inside the tower. Within the next few weeks, it starte again. So we bought a new surge protector and everything to make sure it wasn't us. Which it wasn't. I called the company and told them about the problems and they told me that they would be sending an empty box and for me to send them the computer and they will send me a replacement. Within a few days,… read full review »

I'm 82 years old and I need a computer that I can just plug in and use.  The emachine is that product.  It is reliable and easy to use, even for us oldtimers!  This computer system works.  I don't have the time or inclination to have to sit and read a whole computer manual before I can work on a new computer.  The Emachine is user friendly and can handle whatever jobs you need to do.  The Emachine is easy to clean with just a duster occasionally.  This machine has enough power to do what I need to do.  I like to search and research new products. … read full review »

i can tell you now the throw away age is really here. my sister bought an emachine pc about 2 years ago. she had it loaded with many extras. after 2 years of general use (not alot of hours) it all of a sudden comes up with an error message saying display adapter not responding toook it back to the store she purchased it at best buy we talked to thier geek squad to find out mother board is no good. we asked how much to replace it they said 200.00 because they are hard to find the computer was only 499.00. i called emachines they said buy a new computer.throw away a new computer every 2… read full review »

alright.....here is the truth about this machine...I bought this computer from walmart for half the price of the "better" ones like dell and mac. I haven't had a single problem out of it except that it will run slow at times...but if will fix itself in a few minutes. I am a cost-conscious person so when I saw this computer I did my research and decided it was the right computer for my family. So I got it. I have a LCD screen that works perfectly with the e-machine. I also have a lexmark printer that works very well with this machine. SO far, I love it and I have and will again recomend this… read full review »

I have had my second emachine for a year now, my first one is 4 years old. I have had no problems with either. I highly recommend this computer for anyone who would like a good deal but not alot of problems. My first was a package deal with printer and a TON of rebates. I figured it wouldn't be the best but for what I could afford, I had hoped it would be good. I also didn't know alot about computers at that time. After owning it for a few years I wanted a second computer, I upgraded to this one and gave the other to my kids to use. They are both… read full review »

I am on my 2nd emachine.  My first one lasted for 5 years and ran strong and fast.  It was our best computer yet.  I bought a new one and although I am having some issure with it running slow I think it's because of all of the stuff that I have saved on it, although it has 77% free space.  I would recommend this brand of computers.  As a matter of fact I bought one for my friend as a birthday present.  She loves it and it's running good for her. … read full review »

I had this computer for a little over a year and the hard drive crashed.  The computer is way to noisy.  It is cheap so I wasn't expecting much but I didn't expect it to break so quickly. I did like that it had the functions I needed in the front such as USB plugs and also a spot for external memory.  I was able to take my memory card from my digital camera and input it right into the computer.  That was very… read full review »
