Glue is one of the essential home/desk products and it is something we all use from time to time. When a glue purchase needs top be made, the company that immediately pops into my mind is Elmer's. And among its many products, the one I have used more than any other is Elmer's Glue- All, a multi- purpose adhesive.
Glue Commentary:
Elmer's makes many different glue products but Glue- All is probably the best- known and most useful of them all. Most everyone has tried at least one Elmer's product and Glue- All is the best in the bunch because of the qualities it offers. Not only does it glue many different surfaces, it is also non- toxic and safe for all general uses. There are certainly more powerful glues on the market, but they are not always safe for kids. There are also many products that are even safer than Glue- All, but don't work as well. With Elmer's Glue- All, you get just the right balance of safety and quality bonding.
The only minor annoyance I can think of with Elmer's Glue- All is the problem with the screw- on cap becoming glued shut. This problem happens frequently when kids use the glue because they inadvertently forget to screw the cap tightly shut after each use. If the cap isn't screwed on tightly and there is still a small amount of glue close to the tip, there is a good chance the cap will become clogged with dried glue. When this happens, I usually reach for a pair of scissors and snip off the dried glue on the tip of the bottle, right at the opening. For more severe clogs, however, the cap might be unusable. And when this happens, the only choice might be to unscrew the cap completely (the white cap on which the orange screw- cap is based) and just pour directly from the bottle.
Elmer's Glue- All is sold in many sizes and the combination of a plastic bottle and no- drip cap make it easy to dispense just the right amount of glue. The glue is thick so it will not dispense on its own. You have to squeeze the bottle to get the glue to release. Only a small amount of pressure is needed to get the glue flowing, although a little more pressure will be necessary once the bottle is close to empty. The cap is designed so that the glue won't suddenly come pouring out on its own and make a mess. Even if the bottle is left open (orange cap opened up) and is lying on its side, the glue will remain inside the bottle. It won't release itself unless pressure is applied to the bottle.
Bottom Line Viewpoint:
Overall, Elmer's Glue- All is an excellent product and it ranks as one of the most consistent, reliable, and predictable of all household products. I have a bottle in my computer desk drawer for easy access and I use it for most gluing needs. It bonds almost any porous or semi- porous surfaces with ease and with little mess. It is an adhesive product that has been around for decades and still delivers time and time again.
