Anne Hathaway stars in this, mix of fairy tale and real life movie.

Plot: As a baby, Ella (Hathaway) was given the gift of always being obedient, by her out of sorts fairy godmother.  Now she has to fight off two evil step-sisters who find out about her secret and make her do bad things.  Soon Ella sets off to have the curse reversed and along the way she meets Prince Charmont aka Char, who she absolutely loathes but must save from his evil Uncle and his talking snake.   All in the end she must find a will of her own.

Good Points:  The opening of this movie is great because it looks like a fairy land with unicorns and fairytale features all on a present backdrop of cottages and shopping malls with wooden escalators.  There are some great characters who come in to help Ella (after she's helped them first of course), like Slannen the Elf.  There's a great singing scene with Ella in Giantville.  All in the end her unlikely friends must rescue Ella to save the crown.

Funny and Intriguing: This is like a Cinderella story but gone terribly wrong.  You have the typical evil step-sisters and the men step-mom.  You have the adoring prince which turns out the main character loathes.  Ella has a since of political direction on right and wrong and fights for it.  And although she's very strong minded and willed, she can't help but do whatever anyone tells her.

Why watch it:  This is a fun filled movie that will keep all ages entertained.  It's also a lot of fun to compare it to other Cinderella type movies that have come out.  I definitely recommend this movie.

Snack Attack: Cookies and Cream ice cream.
