Used to read a lot of non-fiction. Been awhile since I read anything other than fiction. This book came recommended by a group of like-minded beings. I am so glad I took action on that recommendation. This is the first book in some time to have a meaningful impact on me. Liz didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. She just said it in a way that truly resonated with me and flipped the light switch to an ah ha moment. I got it that everything is about the search for and connection between the Big I and the little i. And it has nothing to do with being self-centered. I did get a little weary with all her whining in Italy until I realized it was part of her process of learning to nourish herself. Loved the meal from a perfect peach. Then she went to India where she learned to pray and listen to her inner voice as she connected to God. Richard from Texas was a great addition. Then when she landed in Indonesia, she was ready to learn to love herself and receive love.
My favorite line from the book is "I love you, I will never leave you, I will always take care of you." The line reminded me of how God loves each and every one of us and always will. No preachy sermon, just a great message. One I needed to hear and loved the way it was delivered.
Looking forward to her next book.
