Elizabeth Arden Natural Volume Mascara —

I received Elizabeth Arden Natural Volume Mascara as a gift along with some other make-up. I had never used this brand of mascara before but knew the Elizabeth Arden name. I was happy to try this mascara and expected great results. Wow, I was surprised to at the not so great results that I got.

They Say

The manufacturer claims that this product is mascara that provides a full look with minimal clumping. A patented mixer keeps formula smooth and creamy thereby ensuring even application every time.

I Say

When I unscrewed the top to this mascara, the straight applicator looked the same as most applicator brushes. The product appeared to be thick but creamy. As soon as I began to apply it, I realized that there must have been too much mascara on the brush. Immediately my lashes began to clump. I wiped the brush down some on the other half of the container and continued to apply the mascara to the other eye. My lashes continued to clump. After doing my bottom lashes I can attest to the fact that this mascara does not "ensure an even application every time" as the manufacturer claims. I did my best to separate the lashes that were sticking together. Later in the day, I noticed that the mascara was smudging under my eyes for no apparent reason. I am able to wash my normal brand of mascara off with my regular face wash but not this one! It took several attempts to actually get all of the mascara off my eyes. Eye make-up remover is definitely needed to get this product off.

My Final Viewpoint

Elizabeth Arden Natural Volume Mascara was a huge disappointment. At around $16 for .21 oz, I would have expected much better performance. I trusted the Elizabeth Arden name but now that I have tried it, I am sticking with my $5 Maybelline Great Lash Mascara. Sorry Liz, your mascara is only getting 1 star from me.

You don't even NEED mascara. You have curly spiders on your eyelids. lol. (Yes, I am jealous.)
