Well I'm wathing my husband play Guitar Hero (After I got tired of it and gave it up for the night) I had a thought.  Earlier tonight I played one song on this with the guitar flat like a keyboard.  I played the piano growing up and this method was actually way easier for me.  It made me think... why isn't there a "keyboard" or "piano" hero?  Being a piano lover, I've heard a lot of popular songs where piano or keyboard is featured....

Wouldn't that be cool?  What do you think? Or do you think all these games are lame?

I am so addicted to Rock Band and Guitar Hero so I obviously don't think they're lame!  I think of how my friends and I grew up on Mtv (back when they actually played music videos) and doing air bands. I can't think of anyone from my generation that didn't air guitar on a tennis racket so I guess that's why it's so popular.  Everyone wants to be a guitar hero.

That said, I think keyboard hero would be pretty cool too but would maybe appeal to a different demographic.  I think it would be cool if it was popular classical piano and Billy Joel and stuff like that.

Yes Buggheart I'm with you :)  Kids these days don't even know why they like Guitar hero ;)  I think it was made for the MTV generation (I mean MTV when they actually had Videos too!!)

It would be cool if they could just add in keyboards to the Rock Band/Guitar Hero thing like they added in drums and singing.  Ok it's after 11:30 so I can't start playing right now but I so want to :)  We played before but we just bought it for the PS3 last week so I'm still way too addicted to it!

Cool I didn't know there was a name for it :)  It's actually much easier on the wrists that way, and makes me feel like playing the piano or typing so comes much more naturally.  However I'm trying to play the correct way so as not to cheat too much :)

I still haven't tried any of those games yet. They look like their fun.

If you can find a country show on tv or online, maybe even youtube.com you might get to see a musician playing slide guitar.

You might even like a dulcimer or zither.

I don't think a Keyboard Hero game is practical because there is no way you could play all the notes without looking at the screen. However, DJ Hero, complete with a turn table controller, is coming out and looks really awesome. Check it out on IGN.com or Gamespot.com

I like watching others play Guitar Hero. I am not all that coordinated, which is why I like games on my Nintendo DS lite. No matter how much I practice on Guitar Hero, I get bood off the stage. It's really sad... so I am pretty sure any kind of "Hero" game would result in more booing for me!
