What do you personally consider to be the top three inventions or product developments of your era? Most people instinctively say "TV, cell phone and computer" but those don't reach me on a personal enough level. For me, definitely Prilosec! Also, portable electric fans. I never travel without one unless I'm flying. I'm gonna sit and think of the third while you share some of yours, then I'll post it. Will probably be something I've never thought of before that I use everyday and take for granted. Can't wait to hear what you think!

Whoa!  I'm not saying I'm old, but "my era" spans more than a bit of time.  Off the top of my head I'd have to say 1) personal computers, 2) The Internet, and finally 3) cell phones.

Prilosec LOL ~ first thought that comes to mind for me is the push button phone!  When I didn't have to dial anymore :)  I'm sure I'll think of more and come back and add to this...

I like that screen name Rustaddsflavor ~ It does!  I kept tellin' ever'body!

plus you're my neighbor...well sorta down the I10 road a bit

Ok, the Magic 8 Ball and the Etch-A-Sketch!

I remember the first time I saw a CD player (4th grade)...since we only had tapes before that which could get caught on the heads and ruined, sounded awful, and CD's would last FOREVER, with my love of music, I think that was a pretty impressive invention.

I used to audit the Foley's stores in San Antonio before the northern invasion (Macy's). It became a second home for me. I always stayed at the Fairfield Inn airport hotel near the Northstar mall. I was there during the big flood back in '98 or '99 I think. Seems like the rain was always chasing me back and forth on I-10.

If you're in SA you might want to visit the Big Bend region if you haven't already. It's the most beautiful area in the state and you're fairly close.

Etch-A-Sketch?  Isn't that torture device for children?

CD's really are a great step forwards. That may end up being my third choice. Maybe the CD/DVD technology.

Is that a cat-in-a-hat you're holding? LOL

LOL - torture device.  I broke mine when I was 6 and tasted the silverish insides from off the sidewalk.   I thought it was mercury because it was very hard to pick up with our fingers, so then we used our tongues!   So did my friends....side effects??  probably ;)  I've been debating ever since with my husband whether it was mercury they used in the Etch-A-Sketch.  I even went to their website and I didn't find any mention of mercury.

I remember Foley's ~ I used to work at Joske's when it opened in Windsor Park Mall.  That area has really changed.  I have never been to Big Bend but my husband has and says it's very beautiful...yet desert-y ;)   The BIG flood was in '98 here.  Luckily, my house, pups & I didn't float away.

We love Neil Young, so when I first saw your screen name, Rust Never Sleeps immediately came to mind.

Solar Power panels that can be used by everyone(if they can afford them), the internet, and cameras.

But if we put solar panels on our house, USAA won't insure it.  I found that out last week when I called (see my review on USAA for more)

I sure wish we could...

I don't recall reading this anywhere. What about the slar panels that can be set up in a yard somewhere? I'll read your review when I get home later. (Bye for now!)

How about the integrated circuit, the heart of much of our electronics today?

If my electric guitar uses one I'm a big integrated circuit fan. Saves a lot of money on therapy.
