This machine just doesn't perform. It doesn't have the power on low carpet or hard floor with little exception. It clogs with hair around the roller before you have time to accomplish anything . Emptying the dirt container isn't pleasant and seems impossible to do without gettting dust up at your face....

We just moved into our first two-story house and needed a vacuum that would solve two issues:
1) We needed a vacuum that would work well on stairs--something that was light enough and that also had enough suction (we tried using our full-size vacuum and it was a laughable effort).
2) We had quite a bit more vinyl, hardwood, and tile in the new house, and even though our old vacuum has a "hard floor" setting, it just didn't cut it.

No that powerful, can't pick up much in the kitchen pet hair yes but crumbs not that well.

I recently brought a Pronto for $30 (the regular price is around $100) from Big Lots. Because of the Electrolux name, I took a chance on purchasing the model in a refurbished condition for the big discount in price. The vacuum works well, and the cordless convenience is great.
I bought the vacuum for quick jobs because my kitchen floor seems to be continually in need of cleaning. While the Pronto picks run-of-the mill dirt well on hard floors (I have concrete and hardwoods), my guess is that carpet cleaning may be a little more difficult.

Scatterback. I have INDOOR: four cats and a small cat-sized dog. Hard tile floors.After almost two years of pulling hair out of the brush to get it to move for a couple sweeps, it now does not hold a charge.
So: It scatters cat little and almost any BIG like cat litter. It can't pick up cat hair without getting it wrapped in the brush holder on the right side. This renders the machine uselessER.
The hand-held is okay and performs like a high-end bagless hand held should, but put the handheld into the holder for service. I DONT GET ANY SERVICE!
This stick vacuum works wonders on my hardwood and tile floors. After using this vacuum you wouldn't even know that I have a 90lb chocolate lab that sheds buckets!
