Self Cleaning makes it outstanding

I had never had a self cleaning oven, and I have really enjoyed this one. I often have things run over in the oven, and it had always been a pill to clean them up. Now it is very easy. The only caution is to make sure there is a way to vent the fumes while it cleans. You can lift up the bake element to wipe the oven floor free of the residue left by the self clean feature. It comes with two nice racks inside and a boiler rack and pan. There is a broiler element in the top. The oven light turns on; so you can see how baking is progressing without opening the oven door. I purchased the Maytag Gemini shortly after purchasing my first home in 2001. Being new to the appliance buying area, I had no idea this type of oven even existed. SInce my oven died just before Thanksgiving, I was kind of attracted to the double oven. This oven is awesome. It is very reliable and I love being able to use the smaller oven for most applications. It heats quickly and helps conserves energy. It is awesome to be able to cook the Thanksgiving turkey in the bottom oven and the yams and rolls in the top, so everything is ready at once.
