Electrasol 3 in 1 Tablets —

When we purchased our Bosch Evolution 500 Dishwasher it came with a sample package of Electrasol 3 in 1 Dishwasher Tablets with Jet Dry.  We liked the results, but we had always been a Cascade family and we're nothing if not loyal consumers.  When we finished the sample we went back to Cascade Complete Gel Pacs.

Well one day I was doing a major shop at BJ's Wholesale Club.  You know, one of those $500+ adventures and I was starting to get a little anxious about the total we had in our carts.  When we got to the Detergent aisle I was reaching for the Cascade when the Electrasol came into view.  If I bought the Electrasol instead of the Cascade, I was going to save 6 bucks.  Cha-ching!  Okay, I may be brand loyal, but I do have my price.  And on that day my price was exactly 6 bucks.  Call me easy.

Electrasol 3 in 1 Dishwasher Tablets
Like Cascade, Electrasol is available in premeasured packages that fit right into the soap dispenser of your dishwasher.  That's a good thing.  Trying to pour powder into these newer machines is frustrating.  It gunks up the dispenser and it just refuses to snap closed.  But Electrasol is a little different from Cascade in that it is all solid and each tablet has to be unwrapped before using.

Once unwrapped (yes Veronica, you must unwrap it) you'll notice that there are three different colored ingredients.  The blue is the Jet-Dry, the white is the detergent and the cute little red ball is the crud-cutter.

The Results

Electrasol 3 in 1 Dishwasher Tablets with Jet-Dry gives you spot free shiny dishes and pots virtually every time.  Only the foulest pots and pans need a light touch-up.  Glasses come out sparkling without any spots or streaks.  The cellophane wrapping of each tablet keeps them dry and prevents them from sticking to one another.

Warnings

The packaging warns "Keep out of the reach of children.  Notice:  Product may pose a choking hazard to children under 3 years of age.  Caution:  Harmful if swallowed".  Does it pose a choking hazard to a 5 year-old?  Apparently not.  But to be on the safe side I told my 12 year-old to resist the temptation of eating a tablet.  The look I received from her?  Priceless!

Since this product contains surfactants it can cause irritation to your eyes.  I recommend rinsing your hands after handling.

My Viewpoint

Okay, Bosch recommends it and I've used it.  Is it better than the competing Cascade product?  I'd have to give it the edge here.  Now, if I could just figure out how to keep my Bosch Dishwasher from displaying the "Add Rinse Agent" warning.  Any suggestions?

The Xenos highly recommend this product.

Note:  As of this writing  Electrasol is in the midst of re-branding itself "finish", so you may see it on shelf under the new brand name.

Did anyone notice that after extensive use of this product that some stainless steels discolor? Mine have, but not every utensil even in the same batch.
