During my last year of college, every day on my way to campus I would pass this new store called Edible Arrangements.  The delivery van was always parked facing the street, so twice a day I salivated over the picture of the yummy fruit arrangement on the side of the van.  Finally, after a few months I was curious enough to go inside to check it out.  It was like my own personal version of heaven!

Edible Arrangements is a sort of flower shop that makes dazzling bouquets out of fresh fruit instead of flowers.  Arrangements are available in a variety of shapes and sizes and some even feature specials like chocolate, cinnamon, and yogurt dipped fruit, just to name a few.  First, you pick your bouquet and what size you would like it to be...they have various standard as well as seasonal selections with a wide variety of fruit layouts.  Next, you get to pick if you want anything dipped in chocolate or in one of their many enticing flavors.  Then either you can pick it up yourself, or they can take care of the delivery.

My favorite Edible Arrangement that anyone has ever given me came this past week.  A friend sent me the Patriotic Appreciation Bouquet because my husband just deployed to Iraq and I have been feeling under the weather.  This fun concoction featured plain red strawberries as well as those dipped in white chocolate and in blue sprinkles.  The arrangement was so cute and meant so much to me.  It was just a bonus that I could eat it!

Edible Arrangements currently has 867 locations, as well as a delicious website.  If you don't live near a store (or even if you do), you can order your custom arrangement online and have it delivered.  It is just as easy as ordering flowers, and is pretty comparable in price.

I have been given a few Edible Arrangements bouquets and have given a few in return.  They are a wonderfully healthy treat and a fun alternative to the traditional gift of flowers for occasions like Mother's Day, a birthday, an anniversary, etc.  These arrangements are appropriate for any special event or just to say hello or thank-you.  My only problem is that I can hardly being myself to eat the arrangements because they look so cool!!

Hey! Wayzata, eh? Hm, I'm not sure how I feel about that considering we're rivals, but I guess it's not as bad as Eden Prairie. Minnesota to Hawaii is one big difference. I'm definitely jealous you live on The Island. My first trip was to Honolulu in December 2007. I'm dying to go back! See you around Viewpoints. :) Enjoy those chocolate-covered strawberries.

Thanks for the comment! I saw that you are from Edina...I am a former Minnesotan as well :) My parents live in Plymouth and I went to Wayzata. Right now I'm about as far away as I can get, but I still tell people I'm from MN. Your pictures are great and I really enjoyed your reviews. See you around!

The chocolate dipped strawberries are by far the best fruits Edible Arrangements delivers, although all of their fruit is so fresh and delicious. Thanks for taking the time to write this review. I hope you are feeling better and that you and your husband take care.

Also, I hope your husband comes back soon and safe! Hang in there!

I never knew they came with chocolate! The ones my boss always gets are only fruit. They are cool, but in my experience you gotta have a lot of people to eat them before they get too old. It was very tasty fruit though, just got old if people weren't picking at it enough.
