I have tried many, many different shaving cremes and gels. Getting a good shave is the key to a good appearance for any distinguished guy. Your shaving creme or gel is the key to getting a smooth, painfree, healthy shave. Most people don't know the difference between cremes and gels, and that can be a huge difference in a person's shave. I personally use gels because I have more sensitive skin. Gels layer more densely without getting too thick, and for me the denser layer helps give me a smoother, cleaner shave. This gel works extremely well, and Edge gels have been my go to choice for a long time now. If you have supremely sensitive skin and this is not good enough, Edge has a purple capped version for sensitive skin with cooling conditioners. It numbs your skin very slightly and makes the shave painfree and doesnt irritate your skin unless you shave against the grain, but no gel can prevent that.

Effectiveness
It does its job well. It doesn't foam up obnoxiously, it doesn't smell, and it comes off clean; however it leaves a very, very thin layer on your skin that keeps your skin moisturized and smooth. It gets more apparent when u apply water to your skin, but I don't recommend using a towel or anything and rubbing it off. Just apply aftershave on top and it works wonders.

Scent
Its virtually scent free. I haven't had any issues with it leaving a bad smell, and no one i've asked said it left a bad smell. I didn't give it a 10 however because the best, highest quality shaving gels and cremes *do* leave a slight scent behind that is very appealing. This gel does its job of acting as though it was never there, and is washed away without a trace.

I've been using Edge gel for almost 2 decades, and I'm not sure why. It's a fairly generic gel-- there's nothing special about it. It's a little more effective than a generic brand (ie: Up and Up), but it doesn't leave my face feeling as refreshed as other gels. It's reasonably priced and you can usually find good coupons or two-for-one deals. It's a good deal for a basic gel that doesn't leave behind a rash.

Effectiveness
It creates a decent lather, and I haven't had many problems getting nicked by my razor. There's nothing special about the gel though---it's very basic. No tingly feeling afterwards or refreshment. It's pretty decent for people with sensitive skin. I'm never had a problem with burns or rashes.

Scent
It smells like a typical foam shaving cream. It's not overpowering (which is nice), but it doesn't leave any particular scent behind. If you're looking for a specific refreshing scent, I'd look elsewhere. THis is as basic as it comes.

From a family of sensitive skin...

By

Comments about Edge Advanced Shave Gel, Sensitive Skin with Aloe:

I learned at a young age, that shaving without some sort of lather can leave my skin incredibly irritated and sore. So I always try to have cans of some sort of shaving cream on hand. I am generally not a brand loyalist, but I have found that Edge Shave Gel for sensitive skin is fantastic for both men and women. My husband suffers from the same sensitive skin that I do, so I wasn't surprised that he finds this shaving gel to be perfect.

it comes out like a gel and then puffs up to make a rich lather. So nice to use that I have to be careful the kids don't sneak off with the can just to play with it. While I prefer the more feminine scents of women's shaving creams and gels, in a pinch this can is what I will reach for. My husband however loves the smell.

While it can be a bit pricier, you can usually find great coupons and deals!

Effectiveness
Rarely get a rash when using this gel.

Scent
It has a medicinal and masculine scent, but it isn't overpoweringly strong.

Edge Advanced Aloe: Smooth Shave, Less Than Smooth Packaging

By

from USA

Comments about Edge Advanced Shave Gel, Sensitive Skin with Aloe:

Much like Nivea For Men's shaving gel, it has been a while since I have used Edge's shaving gel (mostly for financial rather than satisfaction with the product reasons), and, much like Nivea for Men, while my memories of the shaving gel itself and the positive qualities of said gel (its pleasing color and scent, the ease with which the gel can be worked into a nice lather, the way it works wonders on my sensitive skin, the way it gives me a nice, close shave when I have finished my shave) are many, one factor stands in the way of making Edge a complete success: the can that the product comes in. The manner with which the shaving gel is secreted from the can, the tab one presses down on the can to secrete the gel from the can, gets stuck easily when pressed down. What ends up happening is a decreased stream of shaving gel coming from the can and even no stream at all in some cases. Which, when one is trying to shave and has a full can of gel at their disposal that they somehow cannot get to because of the poor quality of the packaging, it can be a bit frustrating, and can overlook the positive aspects of the gel itself.

The Only Shaving Cream I Use with My Sensitive Skin!

By

from USA

Comments about Edge Advanced Shave Gel, Sensitive Skin with Aloe:

I have dry skin that is very sensitive. After I would shave, my neck would break out with irritable bumps and a few cuts. I would also have dry flaky skin on my face. I switched shaving creams without any luck until I tried Edge shave gel for sensitive skin with Aloe. I noticed a difference the first week. It helps reduce my dry skin because of the Aloe ingredient and I no longer have issues with irritable bumps on my neck. It has really helped me a lot.

Effectiveness
Edge shave gel for sensitive skin with aloe works better than I hoped. I used to walk around with a half beard looking like a growing yeti because I hated the pain and irritation of shaving. Now that I found this product I don't mind shaving on a daily basis.

Scent
The scent is not over-bearing and has a nice smell. I'm thankful that it doesn't have a fruity smell or other "cute" scent. It's a manly, musky sort of scent and is not too strong.

Works Good, Smells Great

By

from USA

Comments about Edge Advanced Shave Gel, Sensitive Skin with Aloe:

Dragging a razor blade across dry skin can be a pain. I work in a field that requires me to be clean shaven, so I cannot avoid the task at any time. Regular shaving cream leaves my skin looking flush. Edge Advanced Shave Gel; namely that which is made for sensitive skin, helps curve the discomfort.

I used to think aloe was a gimmick; let me tell you something, it isn't. I cannot thank this product enough for changing my facial skin; from dry and flaky, to baby bottom smooth. If you suffer from any kind of skin condition, Edge makes a product that will help.

Edge Advanced Shave Gel applies smoothly and evenly, with a minimal amount of drip. The gel penetrates deeply into the follicles, preventing that "tearing" feeling you get from cheaper cream. A single stroke removes all the hair in my razors' path, helping me to avoid slicing myself. The gel does seem to be a little too thick, but that may just be because of the aloe.

The only thing I can really complain about is the duration between purchases. For some reason, I tend to run the bottle dry a lot more often than with regular creams. If not due to the slight increase in price; over the creams, I wouldn't care. Edge Advanced Shave Gel, Sensitive Skin with Aloe; is well worth the money, and has significantly improved my shaving experience.

Effectiveness
Edge is very effective at removing hair, but you do go through the bottle pretty fast.

Scent
Smells great!

the best shave gel i've used

By

from USA

Comments about Edge Advanced Shave Gel, Sensitive Skin with Aloe:

I hate shaving with a passion, and I always get irritated skin that is super uncomfortable. Because of my job, I need to shave 5 days a week. Edge Advanced with aloe has made a huge difference for me. It helps me so much, especially the sensitive part on the underside of my chin and neck. Razor bumps and irritation are much less severe than they were.

Forget those overpriced girlie shaving creams!

By

from USA

Comments about Edge Advanced Shave Gel, Sensitive Skin with Aloe:

I tried this shaving cream years ago when my husband had purchased it for himself and decided to never buy another overpriced can of shaving cream just because it said "for women" again! This is a great product that can be easily found in most stores at a very affordable price, I stock up on this when it goes on sale or when I have good coupons for it. There are five of us girls in the house, so this is a big money saver although my husband has to hide his can so it doesn't get used up by girlies :)

Effectiveness
This shaving cream works GREAT! It leaves my skin nice and soft, doesn't' irritate my skin, gives a nice close shave, I love the gel, it clings well and doesn't run even if it gets a little wet. A little goes a long ways.

Scent
Not a really strongly scented shaving cream, which works for me. I don't tend to like creams or lotions that are overpowering or make me smell like a freshly powdered baby's bottom :)

Edge shave gel

By

Comments about Edge Advanced Shave Gel, Sensitive Skin with Aloe:

I got this given to me back after the tornado in our town. I do not shave my face because I am a woman (LOL) but I was excited to have free shaving cream for my legs. I am somewhat prone to razor burn which is really painful for me, so anything I can do to prevent that from happening, I am pretty excited about. I like how it comes out as a gel and then sort of foams after that. It is very easy to apply and I love how smoothly it goes on. I feel like I get a really great shave with this product, even on my legs. It has helped to improve the texture of my legs, especially right after a fresh shave. I imagine it would work very, very well on the sensitive skin of a man's face. The scent though, I think, is kind of manly. Which is okay, cuz it did not smell bad, it just does not smell very girl which I would prefer. But hey, it was free so I should not complain. I would recommend this product to everyone who has sensitive shave areas.
