The EdenPURE 1000 XL Quartz Infrared Portable Heater heats up to 1000 square feet which is plenty for my apartment. This space heater is pretty pricey coming in at around $350 but for me, it's been worth it. EdenPure heaters come with remote controls for those lazy folks like me. The filters are washable. Plus, I believe most EdenPure heaters come with a 1 year warranty.

Space heaters are not the most attractive home appliances. I do not really like the color and bulky shape of my edenpure but hey, it's a space heater right? How pretty can they be?

Infrared heaters are pretty great. I got mine from czinfrared.com. In my opinion, a little better looking and user friendly. I shopped around a bit and liked the cz the most. It's quiet, has a programmable thermostat, and looks like furniture.
