The Eden Pure Model 1000XL is a piece of junk!

I purchased an Eden Pure Model 1000XL heater and it worked approximately 2 months so I contacted customer service at Biotech Research and they told me to send it in for a replacement.  I did so and received the new one at the beginning of spring.  So took it out of box and checked to make sure it worked.  It came on and then shut down so thinking all was well, I packed it away till this winter. Cold weather hit so unpacked the heater and plugged it in and was all set to be warm and cozy, right?  WRONG!  It came on, heated up, the blower came on to cool it down and that was it.  It would not come back on again regardless of the temperature it was set on or how cold the room was it was sitting in.  When I contacted customer service this time and tried to explain the situation, I was told in no uncertain terms that it wasn't under warranty even though , the paperwork states a year warranty on them.  When I pointed this out I was told that was on the original heater not the replacement! Then I was told to try and find someone locally to work on it. Basically I was told I bought it so now I'm stuck with a $475 piece of junk.  I have even tried to email the company, director of customer service, asking for help in locating a part for the heater and have gotten no response at all back.  So much for contacting someone higher on the ladder!  I would not recommend this product or this company at all. So buyer beware of Eden Pure products and BioTech Research.

This works fine for one year and then breaks. Please respond with experiences after owning anEdenPure for more than one year. Piece of crap.

Hey, I have read a lot of poor reviews on youtube about customer service being bad, and I haven't called them so can't comment on that. I do know that mine works very well and I'm very happy with it. I'm a recent college grad living in my parents basement. The basement was always cold and the heating through the radiator was always too much, uneven, and I just didn't feel it was good for my allergies and asthma. My dad got the Eden Pure in Sep and I've been using it since then (it's been almost 5 months now) and can't complain. It heats up the entire basement and I leave it on all the time and every day- unless I'm going away for a few days. When I come back, I turn it on and it is very quick to heat the area back very quickly and very evenly. It makes no sounds and is totally safe- don't even know it's there. My basement is basically an open hall with tv area, study corner, and workout corner and then my bedroom which is separated and has a door to it. I leave the heater right by my bedroom door and so the air gets to both my room and the hall.

I know many people who are using these heaters who are very very happy. One cottage owner on our lake uses it exclusively to keep his cottage warm all winter and it only costs him $30 a month and his cottage isn't even insulated.
