When I was registering for a high chair, I was determined to get a classic, wooden chair.  I wanted quality.  I wanted something that would blend in with my house.  I didn't think as a practical mom because I had never been a mother at that point.  I'm not sure why I didn't listen to my mom who had experienced four kids before.  The wise woman looked at me and said, "Buy a plastic one.  It's easier to clean."

As a first-time parent, I registered for this high chair thinking that I should really have a "classic wooden high chair".  I was wrong....I should have gone with one of the plastic models that folded up for easy storage and was much, much easier to keep clean!

Although it is a very attractive high chair, it is really hard to keep clean.  I spent way too much time scrubbing the chair.  The tray was also kind of a pain because you had to use two hands to attach it and release it from the chair.  The seat was also very narrow and had little room to spare (my little one was pretty tiny too!). ...

The Eddie baur high chair I bought was unsafe and cheaply made. The first one I ordered had screws that fell back out after I screwed them in because the holes were stripped. I loved the look of this high chair- it is beautiful. I would rather have wood than plastic any day- except now. I am unable to use this with my almost 6 month old. He tips to the side- I have used it once. I now feed him in his Bumbo chair. If I could do it again I would purchase a reclining high chair. My son uses this at daycare and he loves it. I sits up and watches the other children play.

Why would you not want a sturdy, attractive, wooden high chair that stands the test of time?  To me, there is no reason to buy more complicated, plastic versions of a classic.  I absolutely love our Eddie Bauer Classic High Chair! In fact, I could not wait to bring it back up to our dining room from basement storage when we had our second child.  The high chair was a gift from my in-laws for Baby #1 and it still looks brand new after a few years of use and storage.  It just goes to show you that the little bit extra that you spend is definitely worth it.  Aesthetically, this chair is so much...

I picked out my Eddie Bauer wooden high chair for my first daughter in 2007. I am very picky, and I had a hard time finding a high chair that "went with my decor". Finally, I found this one at Target for $130. I was willing to pay for whatever, so I registered for it and luckily someone bought it for me and I didn't have to buy it. I am not impressed with it. We purchased this high chair for use with our first daughter and now are using it with our second daughter and love the look of it. It fits in perfectly with our decor. In fact the wood matches the wood on our dining room set perfectly and we have had many compliments on the seat but that's where the benefits stop. OK, for all of  you new parents out there, don't even consider buying the cheap peice of plastic and steel legged junk that they sell for almost the same price. FIRST and foremost, this is a table that a child EATS at. it isn't an entertainment center, a safety seat for the child to be competely comfortable in, it is where they need to eat with the family. Second of all when you have al these added toys and whatever crap they add on, they are FOOD collectors....YES rotten, stinky, MOLDY food collectors. While I really liked this Eddie Bauer highchair that we purchased, I can definitely see the inconvenience of having it around for too long. I loved the natural wood, the teddy bear pattern on the seat cover, and the way it fit in with our home colors and just the general, casual feel of it all. When my husband and I were starting to shop around for things for our new arrival, we came upon the Eddie Bauer Westlake High Chair at Target. The chair was GORGEOUS and was exactly what we were looking for. We wanted our house to continue to have that "charm" it had before we cluttered it with all our babie's things and the Westlake high chair was PERFECT for everything.
