Why would you not want a sturdy, attractive, wooden high chair that stands the test of time? To me, there is no reason to buy more complicated, plastic versions of a classic. I absolutely love our Eddie Bauer Classic High Chair! In fact, I could not wait to bring it back up to our dining room from basement storage when we had our second child. The high chair was a gift from my in-laws for Baby #1 and it still looks brand new after a few years of use and storage. It just goes to show you that the little bit extra that you spend is definitely worth it. Aesthetically, this chair is so much more appealing to me then plastic, cheaply-made models. I understand the desire for compact models that fold up, but who ends up folding their high chair up at the end of each day? I do not really understand the need for wheels, either. My child eats in a designated area of the home, and there is no need to wheel the chair anywhere. The high chair matches our dining furniture perfectly and our child eats his meals at the table, something that is very important to us as a family. Some have complained about cleaning the high chair, but I have not had any issues - again, not a big deal. I take a sponge to the chair itself and when the chair pad (I do not have the vinyl version) gets dirty I throw it in the washer machine with a load of baby laundry. In fact, the only thing I wish I had was the vinyl seat cover. This is a beautiful, classic-style that will stand up to several uses!
