Are you prepared for a power failure? Most people would answer “yes” to that question and they would point out that they have candles, matches, and flashlights in one of the kitchen drawers, just waiting to be grabbed when the house goes dark. This is a good idea, but there are other means to improve these safety measures and one of them is Eco-I-Lite, a power failure light.

Safety Light Commentary:

Eco-I-Lite is a small flashlight that charges itself by plugging its base into a standard wall outlet. This flashlight is about six inches in length with a lightweight construction and a metallic finish. The small flashlight is stored and charged by placing it on its base, which is plugged directly into an electrical outlet. Eco-I-Lite includes a rechargeable lithium battery and it charges via induction. The light automatically turns itself on if power is lost and it lights up the moment it is lifted from the base. It includes three different settings: Off, On, and Emergency Flasher. A separate nightlight around the edge of the charging base is also present, providing a small amount of light during the nighttime.

Power outages occur throughout the year and in most instances, a standard, battery- powered flashlight is the usual means to provide temporary light until power is restored. Flashlights are usually fine for their use as a quick light source, but they do have some distinct disadvantages. They are easy to misplace and may not be where you last left them. They also experience battery drainage over time and may not be ready when needed.

This is where Eco-I-Lite can come in handy. This small flashlight is intended for surprise interruptions in power, when the entire house or interior of a business goes dark. Because this emergency flashlight is plugged into a standard outlet and because the flashlight itself is stored in the base, it is always there when you need it. If power fails, this flashlight is designed to sense the failure and automatically turn itself on, providing some light so that a concerned person can easily locate it and use it like a regular flashlight.

Eco-I-Lite is a handy illumination device and we have several at my place of business. If a heavy storm hits and power is interrupted, the Eco-I-Lite located on the wall directly behind me will light up the room. Eco-I-Lite isn't a very powerful flashlight, but it offers enough light to suffice until power is restored or until other flashlights, candles, etc, can be located and activated or lit. This device isn't intended as an all- powerful source of light. Its main use is to provide light during power failure without worry over batteries, misplaced flashlights, etc. And since it charges via induction, the flashlight is more attractive. There are no ugly electrical prongs sticking out of the base and there is nothing to unplug. All you do is lift the flashlight from the base and it is ready to go.

Bottom- Line Viewpoint:

Power outages happen, and Eco-I-Lite is a good, dependable source of light when power fails. The light isn’t very powerful, but Eco-I-Lite is still a good device to keep handy when the inevitable occurs. It is good for both home and business use and while the price is a little high, they make a nice addition to your home or business safety plan.
