Eclipse (The Twilight Saga, Book 3) —
"Eclipse," the third book in the series by Stephenie Meyer, is as outstanding as the first two.
After Edward and Bella return home to Forks, Washington, horror stirs up in Seattle caused by a rowdy group of newborn vampires. Carlisle and the family can't figure out who has made them, but Jasper knows how to fight them, if it comes to that. Bella is seemingly being followed and watched by someone who knows the weakness to Alice's visions, indecision.
After graduating high school, nearly getting into a fist fight with the wolves, and throwing a grand party for Bella, the Cullens face off the newborn vampires headed by Victoria. Bella and Edward stay far out of the way in the mountains, but are somehow found by Victoria and her second in command. Edward fights for Bella's life, while the wolves and family are doing the same.
Once the fight is over, Bella and Edward make a compromise: Bella can become immortal once they are married.
This book has more of an adult theme to it. There is more of a physical aspect to it, but Stephenie keeps it clean. The only part that is disappointing is the actual proposal to Bella. This is a big thing for the couple, and it could have been played up a lot more than it was.
