Eat This Not That! is a terrific little book that is a restaurant guide for saving hundred of calories per meal. Author David Zinczenko shows how to swap food choices to save calories and lose weight without feeling deprived. Dieting is a popular pastime in the USA and most every person in the land is either on a diet at present or was dieting at some point in the recent past. Many businesses have come forward with what they feel is the perfect diet plan: One that promises results in only a matter of weeks while requiring little effort on the part of the dieter. Most of these fad diets and instant result diets don't do what they say and many people gain the weight back in a short time. But one weight loss method that has been proven to work is the simple concept that you need to burn more calories than you consume....

Sure, I love reading fiction, and I honestly didn't pick this book up thinking about "reading" but about saving myself some time trying to figure out  what our family should and shouldn't be eating. With the book Eat This Not That I can find out how to make better choices for myself and my family while dining out, cooking at home and even packing lunches.

This book is divided into easy to read and reference categories that help me choose what I should be eating at many popular restaurants or what I should be ordering for my children. Popular restaurant ideas are offered for Ruby Tuesday's,...

I heard about this book like many others on the Today Show on NBC. On the show they were showing all kinds of things that people might think are healthy, but are actually loaded in calories and fat. With each food or meal, they showed a healthy alternative and referred back to "Eat This, Not That" after reviewing all the healthy alternatives.

I have tried a bunch of diets and the only one I have had limited success with each. I have been looking for something that is more like a complete change in living than just eating lettuce or meat and cheese until I go nuts. I think that this book suggests...

Do you hear it? You know, that little voice inside your head that's screaming at you not to eat the second bowl of ice cream or to put down your third piece of pizza.

Eat This, Not That is, in essence, the guide you need to eat better in the REAL world.  The real world -meaning life outside of careful kitchen measurements and pre-packaged food. It's a world filled with greasy, fatty food.

Didn't you ever wonder why you suddenly put on 20 pounds between Thanksgiving and Christmas?

This is a book that is made for us, the real people of the world who are trying to get back on the healthy track....

What a novel concept - bright colorful pictures of "bad" and "good" choices at popular restaurants. Who knew that Chipotle's burrito is over 1000 calories!?! And that in many restaurants, the salads and turkey burgers are worse options than some of the more daunting menu items?

This book makes it easy to choose the right food to help meet your goals. Not only does it include calorie information, but also data on trans fats, sodium, and other nutrients you might want to keep tabs on.

There is also a section that takes a deeper look at menus from neighborhood restaurants - translating the common phrases...

EAT THIS NOT THAT

I use this book everyday of the week. I look at it when ever I'm wondering about somthing that is healthy to eat. Usually two days before I go to the grocery store I make a list from this book so that I know I'm buying things that are good for me. It has all sorts of items that are good for you and also allot of items that are not! Sometimes you think your eating something that is ok and when your done looking at this book you think...oh my gosh!!

I thought that this book was a great read.  It was something to pick up and browse.  I liked the comparisions and was mighty shocked at quite a few of them.  Somethings I thought would be horrible!  But the book pointed out what was good about them.  This is a great book to have on hand.

I watch the show Biggest Loser and I saw this book on that show. The author David Zinczenko was on the show. Really caught my attention. I bought it one day and I love it. Gave me some great ideas on how to eat more healthy. And in the book it points out the difference in calories with all the kinds of food. From dairy to chips to frozen. I had been buying the Weight Watchers frozen ice cream sandwiches until I saw them in this book. I now buy the Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches. I know there are 2 other books and I want to get the one with all the restaurants in it. Helps to know what to order...

This book has the in's and out's of eating. Instead of saying that you must eat this type of bread or this type of cereal, like other diet books, Eat This Not That is a book for those in the real world, as in those that do not have personal chefs. Instead of boycotting fast food, this book shows you what you could eat from McDonalds, Jimmy John's, Pizza Hut, etc that won't kill your diet. Along with showing the calories, fat, sugar, and cholesterol from the best four items and the worst four items, it gives you tips on what brands to buy at the grocery store. A must read for anyone who not only... review »

I bought this book recently and I was surprized by some of the calories and fat that some foods at restraunts and fast food chains contained.  I also was happy to see that some choices I was making were right.  I would suggest people get this book and show it to their children (especially preteen and up) so they can view what they are putting in their body and make better choices.  This book had a large variety of choices that were better and it will make you think twice before ordering those chili cheese fries!

"Eat This Not That" is a great quick refrence book for eating out while still being able to control calorie and fat intake. It is amazing what you think is a healthier choice turns out to be the wrong choice. I have flipped through this book numerous times just for filler reading or when I'm trying to decide what to eat at what location. All the major food chains are listed in this book as well as favorite types of snack and deserts, the book shows the comparison of calorie, sugar & fat intake in quantities.

I love this book. It breaks down the reasons why certain foods are a better choice. Also it gives tid bits of info about different foods on each page. When it comes right down to it most of us already know the right food choices, we just don't always make them.
