Easy Spirit - shoes Review

I bought Easy Spirit walking shoes because they felt okay when I tried them on at the store.  After I wore them for more than 10 minutes, I realized that the shoes were hurting my feet.  So, I wore them around the house for short periods or when running short errands.  After two weeks the shoes still hurt.  After one month, I realized that the red marks on my feet corresponded to the seam at the end of the tongue.  Finally, I gave them to a thrift store. 

My feet are wide.  I have had trouble finding well fitting shoes in the past with other brands.  Maybe my problems are my feet, not the shoes.
