Eagle Pack Holistic Select Dog Food Dry Versions Review

My 2 dogs, a collie terrier mix and  rott-shepard mix, have been eating Eagle Pack Holisitc Select dog food for over a year now. I've noticed a big difference in their appetite and overall health since we began this food. We had tried both Purina One and Science Diet and our dogs did not eat with the enthusiasm that they do now. Before they would nibble at their food and often we'd have to encourage them to finish their food. Now they finish their meals and lick the bowl when they're done. My rott mix Bam had digestive problems on some of the original foods we tried feeding him. It was not uncommon for him to vomit a few times a week and his appetite was often poor. Since we swtiched to the Eagle Pack Holistic Select he has not had any digestive issues and he is eating better. Both dogs are in excellent health and at good weights and their coats are shiny and thick.

There are a variety of flavors to choose from. My dogs favorite is the Salmon and Tuna flavored variety. They have not been too fond of the Chicken and Rice flavor but they've liked most of the others. Although Eagle Pack provides all the nutrients our dogs need we do frequently add some cooked veggies to their dry food. We figure we enjoy vegetables so why shouldn't they. We add a half a cup of cooked peas, green beans, or broccoli a few times a week. On the weekend we add a can of Eagle Pack Holistic canned food to their dry food.

To address the higher cost of Eagel Pack Holisitc Select dog food compared to some other brands, consider the nutritional value. This food has none of the by-product and undigestable fillers of many of the other foods on the market, therefore you can feed your dog less of this food than you might need to compared to another. Think of it as eating an 8 oz steak versus a half-pound burger. Yes, both may fill you up but consider which is healthier and more nutriounal with less fillers. Overall, I think this product is a great buy and has great results. Our dogs are our babies and they deserve the best, and I think this is it.
