My ENO Wine Bar Experience

A good friend of mine recently decided to celebrate her 30th birthday in style at ENO. She was able to reserve a "wine room" for at least 10 people there. This worked out perfectly for our enthusiastic, wine-drinking party of 10+!! We were able to sit in the back of the small-ish wine bar at a large table. We could laugh and talk loudly without disturbing other sophisticates trying to enjoy their experience, quietly.

Our waitress was extremely helpful and attentive. She even snapped group photos for us. She was very knowledgeable about all the selections... origins of the wine, cheese, meats and chocolates... interesting facts about each one... and thoughtful tasting tips. She was very laid back and didn't make us feel rushed to the next flight. This could be because we were dropping a hefty wad of cash there.

The wine pairings were phenomenal! I was fortunate to sit beside my serious, foodie friend who went to culinary school. She was really helpful in pointing out different ingredients and savoring tips. She was also VERY impressed with ENO Wine Bar which must say something considering she has a culinary background.

Who should try ENO Wine Bar?

I recommend ENO Wine Bar for big groups, smaller parties and singles. It's an excellent first date spot for any fellas/ladies who want to impress. The ambiance is dimly lit, romantic and warm. Plus, the InterContinental Hotel Chicago is beautiful itself and couldn't be in a more central location in the heart of the Loop. Bring your pocket book... especially now that Chicago just jacked up the sales tax to 10.25 percent, the highest of any major city in the country right now. Yikes!!
