The Sims 2 is a lot of fun - and a quick look around will give you a lot of reviews detailing what the general gameplay is like. What most people won't tell you is that the part that makes this game the most fun is not actually built into it. The original name of this game was "Dollhouse", and that's probably the most accurate way to think about it. The fun of this game isn't telling little people when to eat and when to go to the bathroom, or even setting little people on fire or making them drown (okay, that's kind of fun, too). The real fun of this game is the stories - the ones that you... read full review »

The Sims 2, developed by Maxis studios under EA games; is an incredible game. You create virtual people and then run their lives.
The game starts with sim creation. You tweak dozens of physical characteristics; from clothing to lip curvature, to create one of millions of possible combinations per sim.  No sim looks exactly alike. You then get to tweak about 5 personality options and then pick an aspiration (fortune, family, popularity, knowledge, or romance) You create your sim(s) and move them into a house. You can choose to use a premade house or you can design your own. There are...

I played The Sims 1 for many, many years before finally being gifted with The Sims 2 for Christmas 3 years ago. Since then I have accumulated every single expansion and stuff pack, downloaded tons of custom content for my game and spent countless hours playing.

The Sims 2 lets you play Sims in game or let you create your own. Once you have selected a Sim family, you are responsible for building and furnishing a home as well as feeding, socializing and taking care of your Sims. Sims speak Simlish, which is hilarious to listen to. Sims can marry, adopt children, grow old, become an alien, paint and...

I have watched several of my kids spend hours playing this game. They simply love all the aspects of the life of a “Sim”. Players get to build their own worlds which actually teach kids about how things cost money and you do not simply get all the elements of your home for free. Kids can even build their “dream house” and lay things out the way they want. It makes for an interesting conversation when you see some of the wackier layouts they create. As for the relationships that go on within the world of the Sims, I feel that kids learn quite a bit about the need for positive reinforcement...

WOW!! This game is so much fun. There is a challenge to keep your person happy on here and yet you can send them any where you want to go. You can have them go swimming and they can own pets and they can go out on the town and so much more. There is so much that you can do with this. I love builiding onto the house and watching what all my sim charcters can do in each part of the house and how they interact with each other. I really liked that in Sims 2 my character was able to meet and get to know who they were going to get married to and you had to pick which one was more compatable with them...

The original sims game was something I truely adored so getting the second edition was a total yay moment for me. I was so pleased with the updated graphics, emotes, ages, and over all game play. I was also super glad they stuck with basics and the storylines were silly and fun and developled during game play. On top of everything there are tons more add ons you can build or even google search and download other peoples. I really can't wait for the 3rd.

Each expansion or stuff pack enhances the game.  Even without all the packs it's very enjoyable creating and controlling the lives of these Sims.  Children are born, grow up, have families of their own.  You can watch and control the entire life cycle of each Sim.

I love building homes for other Sims 2 players. I am looking forward to seeing what The Sims 3 will bring this next year. Just wish I had more time to actually play the game.

sims 2 was really fun for a while but paying for every expansion is expensive and if you dont have all of them you are limited.
