When my husband told me he could get the Dyson Ball DC25 vacuum on discount at work, we jumped at the chance. We've been needing a new vacuum since we got married, but were never willing to pay the high prices for a good one. We also didn't want to pay the low prices for a vacuum that would break down in a year. Everyone always told me that Dyson was the best, and now I have to agree!
The Ball Technology
The word "ball" might confuse you, but this is actually one of the best features of this vacuum. Instead of having 2 wheels in the back, the Dyson Ball DC25 has a big ball! About the size of a soccer ball, this let's me turn any which way without having to go back and forth to rotate. I admit that at first this was a little tough to control. However, after just a few uses, I am now able to turn this vacuum all around my house, getting in every corner, with ease.
Lightweight
The second thing I noticed about this Dyson is how easy it is to carry around. The clear handle on the front makes it simple for me to take this from room to room with only one hand. If I haven't used it for awhile, I tend to forget and grab it with two hands... then I'm surprised again when I realize how light it is.
All Floors
We bought this one because we have one hardwood floor and the rest carpet. My coworker warned me that another brand of "all floors" vacuum he bought didn't pick anything up when it was on hardwood floors. I'm happy to say ours works great on every floor in the house! When entering the kitchen, I just press this little button that stops the rollers. You can see the red roller brushes because the vacuum is clear, so you know that they have stopped. Then, once I go into the kitchen, the vacuum still sucks everything up just the same. I've had no problems thus far.
No Bags!
A lot of people want vacuums like this now because there are no bags. Instead, everything gathers in that clear bin so I know exactly when it's full. The bin snaps off of the vacuum easily so I can empty it directly into the garbage. I've not had to manually clean the bin yet, so I can tell this will go awhile without needing to be cleaned.
Internal Hose and Attached Accessories
The top of the vacuum handle snaps open to reveal a wand, attached to a hose. Two accessories are attached to the vacuum (see picture). No longer do I have to drag a hose out of the closet when I see something under the couch! Instead, I just pull the hose out, attach the accessory I need, and when I'm done it all goes easily back into the vacuum. The wand makes it easy to reach all the way under my couch. I do wish the hose was a little more stretchy as it does seem to be tight at times, but I believe you can buy an extra hose to add on to it if you like. I don't need to use this that much, so the hose that came with it is fine.
Bendy and Skinny
Finally, I love how bendy and skinny this Dyson is. As you can see in the picture, I'm able to bend it almost all the way back to vacuum under my dining table. It even is skinny enough to fit under my dining chairs! Although I still move the furniture out sometimes to vacuum, I no longer have to move the furniture every time I vacuum.
I know, it's pricey... but...
You'll love it! I admit that if we didn't have a huge discount I might still be on the fence about buying this, but now that I have it I think it's totally worth it. The Dyson Ball DC25 has made vacuuming so much easier. I still don't enjoy the task, but I'm no longer dreading it. Enjoy!!
