Best Vacuum I've Owned by far!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I have owned the Dyson DC18 slim for a couple years now and can honestly say that it makes vacuuming the floor a pleasure.  No other vacuum I've ever owned sucks up all of the dust and fur and other miscellaneous gunk like this vacuum does.  It literally sucks the dust out from under my furniture with no effort on my hardwood floors.  I have a 900-sq-ft. house and this vacuum is the perfect size for this amount of space.  It is one of the smaller Dyson vacuums so it stores much better in a smaller space than some of them.  I have relatives who have some of the larger Dyson's and the Dyson's with 'the ball' and this one by far maneuvers the best out of all the Dyson's I have used.  It has a small and compact head that can easily go under the sides of furniture, under cabinets, etc.  The hose and attachments also work well for getting into small spaces.  I especially like to use it for cleaning in corners and around the baseboards of my home.

SuperHero of all Vaccums!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

So, when i first heard about the new dyson vaccums, i was very on the fence about it.  For one, when i saw the price tag my eyes about popped out of my head.  So i did my research and discovered what exactly was the difference between this vaccum and other ones that were out on the market today. Seemed like it was worth a try being that I spend countless dollars on other brands that just weren't picking up like i needed, especially with a baby who plays on the floor.  So I made my purchase and boy was i happy i did.  This product was lightweight, easy to hall around, and the suction power was good and stayed strong and is still working just as good as the day i got it. &n...

Dyson truly is the best!

Maneuverability
Rated 5 out of 5

My dyson is so lightweight but powerful. I got the ball type dyson and it turns on a dime.

Ease of maintenance
Rated 5 out of 5

I have had mine for over ten years now and I have not had to have it maintenenced once. I clean the filter as instructed and wash out the canister and that is it. Ten years later and it still has great suction power. I will never by anything but DYSON.

Suction performance
Rated 5 out of 5

Ten years and no loss of suction that I can tell.

Versatility
Rated 5 out of 5

Dyson offers many styles and options so you can't go wrong. Read the reviews. Everyone that has one loves it.

Design
Rated 5 out of 5

Mine is a sport model on a ball and I have no complaints, just wish I had bought one sooner.

Durability
Rated 5 out of 5

Ten years old and going strong.

What for a sale but get one and you will not be disappointed

BEST VACUUM EVER

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I was able to get the Dyson Slim 18 at a great price by using my points I accumulate from different programs. I was using a Miele vacuum at the time that uses bags. The Miele was a great canister vacuum and I thought I wanted to get another canister in addition to the Miele. The Miele was much more expensive than the Dyson. I liked the idea that the Dyson did not require replacing bags so I started looking at these and doing research to see which one would fit my needs. I initially was looking at the Dyson canister but decide to try this one since it is slim and lightweight. I was wondering what all the hype was about how these work and now I understand why there was such high praise on real...

It makes me want to vacuum!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I have several friends that own a Dyson vacuum and all of them raved about it.  I really wanted one but wasn't sure that I would want to pay that much for a vacuum cleaner.  I finally found a deal that was affordable for me and I cannot remember that last time I was this excited about something!  I got the DC18 slim model which is perfect for my two bedroom condo.  The amount of stuff that this Dyson vacuum is pulling up out of my carpet makes me wonder if my previous vacuum was doing anything at all!  I use all if the attachments and am even considering purchasing other attachements!  I love this vacuum!  It is worth every penny!

A Powerful, User-Friendly Cleaning Machine

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I love this vacuum cleaner.  I have 2 dogs and 2 cats that are inside animals!  I have  an area rug, linoleum,  laminate flooring and wall to wall  carpet in my home.  This mighty machine cleans them all well.  I love the convenience of the button to raise and lower the beater bar when traveling from carpet ot laminate or linoleum.  I would like to speak especailly about the area rug.  It is a beautiful wool Karastan rug that was our one purchase for our new home, as you can imagine with the animals, I have to vacuum everyday.  This vacuum does a tremendous job of picking up animal hair, making my rug stand out as the centerpiec of our livingroom.  I will agree, it is an investment in a quality tool, and it does not come cheap, but I know from watching the ads, that Sears carries these at 30% off quite often.  Tools used often should of good quality, and the Dyson DC18 is a quality tool.

The Dyson DC18 is a powerhouse

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

We bought a Dyson DC18 when we moved into our current home three and a half years ago. I winced at the cost but had read enough glowing reviews and heard enough positive feedback from friends and family that I really wanted a Dyson. Now that we've had it for 3 1/2 years, I'm convinced that it was well worth every penny.

We have three cats and a golden retriever in the house, 75% of the floors are tile and the other 25% is carpet, and the Dyson does remarkably well on both surfaces. With that much pet hair, I expected to see a decrease in the Dyson's effectiveness over time, just as we'd experienced with other vacuums, but it's still every bit as powerful and effective as it was on the day w...

Loving my Dyson DC 18

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I am loving my Dyson DC 18 Slim All-Floor Vacuum. I think for awhile, I was going through two vacuums a year, because they just kept on losing suction power or just stopped working all together. Finally my husband bought me this vacuum cleaner a couple of years ago, and its still working great. We paid a little more for it, but it was well worth it. I have three young children and a cat, and the vacuum works great at keeping my carpets clean and it does not lose suction. The canister is also so easy to empty. I love the size of this vacuum too, because I do not have much closet space to spare and it takes up very little room. It is easy to maneuver too, and I can fit into tight places. The one negative would be the attachments. Most of the time I do not bother with them. I don't know what I would do without my Dyson, I probably would be still spending so much money on vacuums every year. I recommend this product to all my friends and family.

dyson vacuum

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I love my dyson vacuum. Yes they are more expensive than your regular vacuum cleaners however you can not compare the dyson to any other vacuum. I have had mine for over 5 years and it is still running as if it was brand new. Unlike my past vacuums which seemed I had to replace them every two to three years so in the long run I guess i ended up spending less on this vacuum overall. The vacuum is very easy to use and it is also very light weight. It fits in very tight spaces and I love the fact that it takes no effort to maneuver especially when turning corners. I feel this vacuum has a stronger suction that the regular vacuum cleaner. Like I said this vacuum is more expensive but if you look in the right places you can find them fairly cheap. I didn't pay full price for it becasue I did my research but with my past experience with this vacuum I think I would have paid full price. Although I am glad I didn't.

Love, love, love this vacuum!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

When my husband and I were talking about getting a new vacuum, I was really hesitant to consider the Dyson, mainly because of the price.  We have 2 young kids in daycare, and I wasn't sure that it was THAT much better and warranted spending hundreds of dollars extra for a vacuum.  They all do the same thing, right?  Wrong.  We decided to have our carpets cleaned because we hadn't had them cleaned since they were installed about 2 years earlier.  The gentleman that came to clean them brought his Dyson because he vacuumed before he cleaned.  We told him that we had already done it, but he assured us that he needed to do them again and then showed us why.  Aft...

You can't go wrong with this Dyson

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I've had this vacuum for over 3 years now, and it's still going strong! I paid $350 for it back in early 2008 - not cheap vacuum, but worth every penny. I'll start with the bad first since there aren't many bad things to say... it's not great on wood floors or on really deep rugs - not that it doesn't pick up (it will pick up every piece of dirt it finds), but it just doesn't glide over those surfaces very well. But this dyson will suck up everything in its path. It's bagless and easy to empty and clean, plus the ability to extend the arm to reach high or difficult to reach areas is excellent. I'll never buy another brand of vacuum again (though, i may not ever need to buy another vacuum, since this one seems it will last forever!).

The Best

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

My wife and I got this vacuum because we have a very smallhouse that didn't need much vacuuming.  We have a mid size dog that sheds a lot so we thought that this vacuum would be perfect.  There is some slight assembling when you first take the vacuum out of the box but it wasn't too hard except for the instructions are mostly just pictures.  The suction that these Dysons have are amazing.  It is unbelievable the amount of hair and dirt that the Dyson picks up.  We had a Bissell before and it doesn't even compare.  The vacuum was a little pricey but it was on clearance so we got a great deal at Macy's.  The vacuum is super light weight and is easy to carry up or down stairs.  We can get under the bed, couch, chair and the kitchen table.  We will probably get a new Dyson soon since we moved to a bigger house but the Slim is still holding up great and we wouldn't trade it in for anything in the world.

Awesome vacuum, lives up to the Dyson reputation.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

We have owned the       for about two years, and absolutely love it!  We had obviously heard of the Dyson brand, but avoided it because of its high price tag.  Instead we went through three cheap vacuums, equaling the cost we would have paid for a Dyson in the first place.  So, we gave in and got one. :)

It is perfect.  It vacuums up anything and everything.  And I love the "ball" feature, it helps it move and turn so smoothly and effortlessly.

I have only noticed one flaw in this vacuum over the past two years.  And it's actually more of an annoyance than an actual flaw.  In order to use the wand and its corresponding attach...

A must-have for every home!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

With our family it felt like I was constantly cleaning up messes.  The multiple vacuums we had gone thru prior to our Dyson never did the job.  Oh maybe the first few times I used them, but then it got to be that regardless of how often I changed the bag, or cleaned this or that nothing was clean.  I was constantly just re-distributing the dirt over the floor in a nice even pattern. Bare feet were simply not an option.  I was tired of what I was seeing on the carpet and borrowed my mom's Dyson Slim All Floor and simply fell in love.  Yet at the same time I was mortified what was sucked out of the carpets.  Were our floors really that gross?  Yes, indeed the...

out favorite dyson vacuum

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

We had this vacuum for 2-3 years before upgrading to a larger dyston and my wife has wanted this one back ever since. Unlike most full size dysons, this one was able to slip under couches and was easier to carry up stairs. The dirt chamber is smaller than other dysons, but at worst we had to empty it after a full cleaning of the house. But for general spot cleaning or vacuuming a room or two, I never felt like i had to empty it often.

The attachements aren't amazing and I'd really like an attachment with a motorized head. Other than that, we had no complaints. The dysons are expensive but if you wait for a good sale and the fact that I had them for years with not a single issue--definately worth it.
