Dyson DC14 Animal Vacuum Reviews

The Bottom Line:  Remember, there is nothing more to buy once you purchase the DC14 Animal. No bags, filter, nothing. SO start truly cleaning!!!

For almost 5 years I have used the DC7 as a test for Dyson and thought it was amazing the way it cleaned. Then I was at H H Gregg where I love seeing folks freak at a $500 selling price & more at other stores like Sears. The Manager, who knows I do professional shopping & wrote a review on his store, gives me an "Aunt Gert" discount on items we buy, so we are his best customers.

So 2 days ago I was in the store & he approaches me with the new DC14 Animal....

I bought the Dyson Animal to help remove some of the insane amount of pet hair that my dogs like to accumulate everywhere they go.  One of my major concerns was hairs in my vehicle.  I was having the hardest time finding a vacuum that could remove the hairs from my SUV seats.  I was hoping that if I spent a good deal of money on a vacuum that would do the trick.  Well, it didn't really happen.  Don't get me wrong, the Animal has proven to work very well on the carpet for all the indoor dog hairs but it just isn't very good in the vehicles.  I even bought the auto attachment and that doesn't...

We bought this vacuum after our old one wasnt picking up all of the dog hair on the floor.  I had heard so many good reviews about Dysons...so once I saw this one on sale I had to grab it up.

I am pleased with its performance.  It has descent suction, a long reaching wand and hose, good attachments, lightweight, not too expensive when you keep an eye out for a deal and easy to empty.  I do wish the chamber was a bit larger though...I have to empty mine about 4-5 times per use. 

The suction could be a bit better.  I do have to go over each area about 2 times to be sure everything is picked...

I live in a home with 4 cats. That's right. Four cats. We used to own a Hoover vacuum cleaner, and it was a disaster, especially when it came to emptying the canister. I always felt like we were putting dust and pet dander right back into the air, and it really bothered me.

Then, three years ago, I was about to have my first child and I went on a cleaning rampage. We had the ducts blown out and got an air purifier, and I finally decided to get a Dyson DC-14 Animal for the carpets. What followed could only be described as "Vacuum Fest 2006." I could not stop vacuuming. Carpets! Hard floors! Stairs!...

I have a husband who tracks in a lot of dirt, two kids, two cats, and a dog! And we live in west Texas, where dust storms are not uncommon.

I vacuum once a week, at least. And I empty the canister at least twice. I don't mind, because I can really see what I'm picking up! With my old Hoover, I probably changed the bag every couple of months! That's proof that the Hoover just didn't compare.

I'm always amazed to see what is in the canister. I don't know where it finds all the dirt and hair! But I'd rather vacuum it up, than leave it in my carpet.

When I purchased this vacuum we had a long haired black dog that shed everywhere.  My Hoover just wasn't cutting it, so the woman at the Sears store suggested the Dyson.  After doing some research, I decided to purchase the animal one (purple).  I was totally amazed at how much it picked up, even on areas that I had just swept with my Hoover.  It really gets down into the carpets and gets out the hidden dirt.

Our dog is no longer with us, but my Dyson is still working great.  We have been doing a lot of remodeling in our old house and some work in our new one and we use it everywhere for everything. ...

The Dyson Animal (DC-14) is the **best** vacuum you will ever own and definitely worth the money.  I had a standard Hoover Wind Tunnel and one of those (very) expensive Kirby vacuums that are sold door-to-door.  The first time I used the Dyson at home cleaning one carpeted room produced an entire canister full of dog hair!!  I have only one Labrador Retriever, so just imagine if you're a multiple pet home!!

 The attachments are great for cleaning fabric furniture and excellent for car mats too.  It's also super easy to empty the canister and toss it into the sink for a quick wash.  The canisters...
