We bought this vacuum after our old one wasnt picking up all of the dog hair on the floor.  I had heard so many good reviews about Dysons...so once I saw this one on sale I had to grab it up.

I am pleased with its performance.  It has descent suction, a long reaching wand and hose, good attachments, lightweight, not too expensive when you keep an eye out for a deal and easy to empty.  I do wish the chamber was a bit larger though...I have to empty mine about 4-5 times per use.

The suction could be a bit better.  I do have to go over each area about 2 times to be sure everything is picked up...but it is a good, lasting vacuum.

nice. Dyson's are good...but even in Consumer Reports they are not rated that high on overall suction. I usually have to vacuum a few times a week to keep them looking hair free.

Noticed online today that Bissell has some pet vacuums. I need to follow up and read reviews on Amazon. Oddly enough, it's my short-haired Shelby who's shedding the most hair right now. Every once in awhile I get one of her bristly hairs stuck in my bare foot. Ouch!

I agree....it needs to be invented ASAP. I hate cleaning the hair out!

Rats! I was hoping that Dyson just got all that hair out of there by itself. My ideal is a cordless and hairless machine. What do you think of my chances?

Yes...all the time. I have to clean the hair out of the brushes about every other time that I vacuum. Its a pain!!

This is Pet Hair Season and a really timely review. I'm managing pet hair with a Shark sweeper patched together with duct tape. Like your Dyson, it's got a container that's much too small. I have to pull hair off the brushes. Do you have to do this with the Dyson?
