practical, a city dweller
Pros

    It Really SUCKS!, less allergies, Carpet to Bare Floors, No Bags or Belts, Lifetime Filters, Vacuums well, Easy to use, It's amazing to see what picks up, cleans like no tomorrow!

Cons
    Very Heavy Unit, Hard to use on stairs, Can't reach under low cabinets easily, A little on the pricey side, I don't use most of the attachments

Dyson DC14 Animal Vacuum  — 

My children and husband are allergic to animal dander but my family wanted a cat. This machine lets everyone breathe! Iabsolutely love this machine although I must admit that seeing how much dirt it cleans out of my carpets is, in a word, gross. Better in the vacuum than in the carpet or air, though. I totally love this machine but have two complaints. The first problem is that it doesn't have an easy way to carry it up stairs and down. As often as not, when you grab the handle to carry it, you end up releasing the wand. Second comlaint is that it is all plastic so piees can break off. When trying to carry it upstairs [see complaint #1], my machine fell and the canister dropped onto the floor. The tiny hook that keeps the canister shut broke off so, until I can replace it, I have to manually keep the canister closed when I remove it for emptying., Not a huge deal but at that price, you woudl think it woudl be more durable.
