I truly never thought I would spend almost $600.00 on a vacuum cleaner but it has been worth every penny.  I frequently read a magazine that tells which items are worth the money and which are not.  It, to this day, states that the Dyson is not worth the money.  I decided to do my own homework and everyone that I had spoken with loved their Dyson, so I thought I would give it a try.
I have been through SEVERAL vacuum cleaners due to the fact that my husband likes to "help me" with the vacuuming.  I did the math and could have purchased a few Dysons for the money I have spent on less expensive cleaners.
I decided to go for the Dyson DC14 for animals due to the fact that I have two dogs that shed like crazy and a cat that likes to grace us with her presence occasionally.  The den is the most lived in room in our house so I figured that would be a good test spot.  I could not believe how much dirt and pet hair this thing sucked out of my carpet.  It also sucked up some carpet fibers where the kitchen linoleum and carpet meet.  The suction is awesome!  I use this thing for all my cleaning...dusting hard to reach areas, mini blinds, t.v., ceiling fans, the "fun" never ends.  The cord, oh my gosh, it reaches all over the place.
My problem with other vacuums has also been while using on board tools.  They usually have hardly any reach and ALWAYS would tip over when I tried to do something.  My Dyson has never tipped over on me and reaches the top of my 9 ft. ceiling with room to grow.  The convenience of the bottom emptying canister is a great feature.  I just go outside to the trash can, push a button and the dirt is gone without me getting my hands dirty.  All I have to do is check the HEPA filter every now and then, rinse it, dry it, and I am good to go.  No extra cost involved.  All the attachments connect nicely on the machine so I am never scrambling to find them.  I don't know how I ever lived without this machine.
If you have a few bucks at tax time and are in the market for a new vacuum, go to your nearest dealer, tell them about your daily living and they will gladly recommend the Dyson that is right for you.
Happy Vacuuming!!!!!!
