I purchased the Dyson on the recommendation of a friend who loved hers. I was pleased with how easy it was to assemble and operate. The design is great  - with all the tools on board and the hose and wand attached I never have to drag extra equipment around. It glides much smoother than my former vacuum. Even thought it is made of plastic (which seems to be a common criticism) I have found the construction to be very sturdy. It has a strong handle for lifting and emptying the dirt cup is SUPER easy. I would definitely recommend this vacuum to anyone. It is expensive, so watch for sales or special offers & be patient - it is worth the wait! I was able to purchase my Dyson with a 30% discount coupon at Kohls and I have seen several times Target offers gift cards with purchase of a Dyson.
